-Aleema Cook-Off is in full
swing! First round done, second round is
heating up (I love puns :D)!
Regardless of who wins, everyone has done
a great job so far. All entries
have been quite good, making my job
much harder. Keep up the good
work!
-House Envoy Pendragon is accepting submissions from anyone for
the
House Aleema archives.
-The Mess, part Deux is still running. Anyone
want to take a stab at
it...?
-If anyone has any Stronghold ideas, just
let me know.
-Also, the Aleema Cook-Off is an official house comp, so all
you
sub-DJK'ers will get credit for participating (only one comp
credit
regardless of how many rounds you make it through).
And now, a new addition to the House report, the AED REPORT! Yay!
My friends,
This is the first of what I hope will become part of
the
house report for years to come. Since our PCON
does a report, I thought that
I would start the first
AED report for our house.
First, Double T's
Iron Chef comp is in its second
round, and I want to congrat not only all the
winers
of the first round, but TT for comming up with such an
interesting
idea. I am glad to see the bickering at an
end, and the house comming
together. We are brothers
and sisters in darkness, let us be a
family,
(esspecially in my case, because I prefer the company
of you guys
over my RL family.)
Until next week when it will be a little more
in
depth.....
FISH FRY: (Yeah, you're still stuck with it)
I
hate professors, I really do. They never tell you what they want, or,
on the
rare occassions when they do, they change their minds AFTER your
paper is
due. The old "bait and switch". Another tactic of theirs is
the "don't
forget!". They love assigning small papers right before a
term paper is due.
You spend days upon days researching, writing,
editing, rewriting your term
paper, only to find out that you missed
some menial assignment that was due
two days before the paper. Or even
if you remember the menial assignment, you
end up spending the entire
day on it because you forget about your term
paper. Also popular,
especially among tenured faculty who do research all day
long, is the
"waiting game". You have three papers in one class, spaced out
over the
entire semester. 5 weeks per paper, not bad at all. You turn in
the
first one on time and wait for the results. You know, to see whether
or
not your professor likes you writing style. You delay writing your
next
paper because you want his comments on your first paper. The
Course
Drop date passes, no paper returned. The second paper is due, no
paper
returned. Armeggedon comes, no paper returned. Your fourth
email
reminding him of your first (and now second) paper goes unanswered.
The
third paper is due, no papers returned. You take the final, no
papers
returned. Then, as you finish your final (which you didn't study
for,
of course, cause you GASP! had exams in other classes), he hands
back
all three papers with grades of C (his comments: "good ideas, but
need
to work on your writing"), D+ ("good ideas, but your writing is
awful.
See me about it"), and F ("See me immediately re: your writing
style").
The "Waiting Game" is often accompanied by the "what doesn't kill
you
only means you're not working hard enough" tactic. Here, the
professors
piles more work on you than Superman or the Flash could do in a
year
while neglecting to return any of the assignments to you. A
deadly
combination, to be sure.

fine, albeit bleeding, thank
you very much."

At least 8 participants (4 teams) will be required for each tournament to take place. GCr will be awarded to the winner and SCr for the runner-up. CFs will be awarded to those that win matches just like a normal multiplayer competition. Well with the boost to our numbers with the new members, we have a chance (and a good one) to match House Dinaari. Again, it will be victories that will decide the out come of this Feud, and our chance to be the #1 House. With team work and support from eachother we could do this with ease. I think its our destiny to become the #1 Obelisk House in the DB. Which leaves me with a thought.............<font face="Visitation" color="#800000" size="4">Anybody here from outter space?</font>
