The entire DB was mailed this week about Project Thallium and the changes it will bring. These changes are currently in effect and everyone is being given the chance to "settle in". By that, I mean, not slacking off. I mean battleteam leaders running competitions and starting to think about battleteam websites and everyone else up the chain of command doing their duties 110%. At the end of the month, I'll review the performance and we'll start looking at how to adjust the system.
Two persons of note for this report. PRT Talon Zetar (Obelisk)/SGT/Cestus of Tarentum and GRD Erryc Lasitter (Sith)/CMDR/Ronin of Alvaak. GRD Erryc has already submitted two competitions for his battleteam, while PRT Talon has made a webpage for his team. This is the kind of activity I want to see from battleteam leaders and both are setting a pretty good example so far.
It's been brought to my attention that certain individuals are trying to slack out of their duties (specifically running competitions) by using the excuse of "Wait for the GJW!". We got into a similar situation under a previous GM/DGM, and the DB rotted into inactivity, waiting for the GJW back then. I will not allow this to happen again, because it could be one month, it could be three, before the GJW is finished. Since my Project Thallium email designated this month as "competition running time", I expect to see all levels of the DB running competitions. Those found not running competitions and/or using that excuse will be considered as derelict in their duties and will be dealt with appropriately.
