Quaestor Shups reporting in for House Aleema of Satal Keto

Fiction:
Two figures sat in an ancient library, deep in the catacombs of an ancient keep. Despite it's age the table and chairs were still sturdy, a shining testament to it's craftsman. Both humans were sweaty and fatigued, tired from their month long journey into this labyrinth. Both sat for a moment panting, the last battle to get into this room being the cause of their current state. Being physically fit though, the two quickly recovered and one of them pulled out a device from a pack that produced a small flame. With it, several candles were lit.
The woman was startling. Her features, even disheveled, were beauty personified. As the candlelight shone upon her, a smile curled her lips up. Until she saw him.
"By the light! Your wounded!" she gasped and started to stand. He motioned her back and after training with him for so long, she went still then sat down. She wanted to tear her eyes away from the wound but it was the type of horror that one neither could stand nor could look away from simply due to curiosity.
The candlelight flickered and through it she saw his right forearm glistening with blood and bone protruding through his skin. His hand was twisted backwards. She cringed. He should be howling in pain, she thought. She finally looked away. Then she saw something worse. His face. He was smiling.
"Doesn't it hurt?" she asked quietly.
"Oh yes," he shook his head, eyes closed, and sighed, "So very much."
She waited. She had learned how he taught. She could not think of the answer to this. She was afraid of what it could be.
"So simple, my young apprentice," like he was reading her mind, "Ask me, honestly."
Reaching out through the Force she looked at his arm and then him, his being. A gray figure with currents of black and white energy streaming through him, red lines of agony too.
"I shall ask after I state," she said firmly.
"So be it," a spurt of blood pumped from the wound.
"In the chaos of the last battle your arm was crushed by that machine that should have killed me. You saved us. Me, I should say, but I know you don't think like that. But here you sit in pain afterwards. We have means to heal it now that we are safe. So my question is: Why don't you heal it Master?"
A long moment passed.
The man stood. Using the Force and physical strength he grasped his forearm and slammed his bones back into place with a sickening crack. He howled from the pain. His saber ignited next, the yellowish glow surpassing the candlelight. He cauterized the wound. He next pulled the advanced bacta shots from his pack with his good arm, and proceeded to administer the appropriate dosage.
"Pain teaches mostly in bad times," he began slowly. "I choose to let pain teach me and serve as a reminder of good times. I will remember our sitting here over the initial onset of the wound. I will remember this part, the good part rather than the bad. Do you understand?"
"I hear and learn Master."
"Then you do well."

I guess the big news this week is the "E-mail War". Some peeps wanted to chat over the e-groups but some didn't like the tidal wave of mails. The problem has been fixed! The house e-groups is only for official business. No idle chat or gossip. Use ** in front of the topic. Use the csk e-groups for the idle chat and gossip. This was already sent to the house as Announcement #1. Any confusion talk to me.
I strongly suggest doing at least one Krath monthly topic. You will have a full month and some of you (/me winks) need it for your next promotion according to the house Dark Jedi Trials program. BE SURE to CC at least your TET, the KHP, and ME with your submission.

Quaestor's Lounge
We keep this up and Gordo is gonna be so swamped with the need to issue medal requests we might be able to slip an Emerald Dagger request or 2 by him.
I like the activity in the comps and in other areas, I like the ideas I see and the creativity. Now, let's work on being civil to one another and having some err, what was it that I like to do? FUN baby, yeah!
