Quaestor Report

Yep, I know. Sithie's late again. I was late on this one intentionally, actually, for one specific reason, but also for a reason that just came up, too. So, without further ado, on to the report!

First, I'd like to take a moment to officially welcome three specific members. Two who are most recent, and one that I believe I failed to make note of earlier, of which I do apologize.

Acolyte Obscurus Manica recently came to us from our sister-House of Cestus, of which we are always glad to have fellow brothers and sisters in Tarentum come to join us. Acolyte Andromeda and Novice Jeremy Leto Cleon Alexander Demerzel have also joined our House, thanks in part, or wholly, I believe, to the efforts of our own Jade Avius, who took the initiative to mail the Rogue lists, offering an invitation to join Gladius. To Andromeda, Jeremy, and Obscurus, I would truly like to offer a welcome to the House. As always I am ever ready to serve our new members, and I am here should you need assistance from me.

On another bright note, with these recent additions, I now have the honor and priviledge to say I am serving as Quaestor in the largest Krath House of the Brotherhood. Our numbers now stand at 24, which is one more than the former largest, Acclivis Draco of CSP. Although numbers do not garner rewards, per se, I always feel honored to serve you as Quaestor, and as our House continues to grow, I see the talent swell around me. You guys are awesome, every last one of you, and I really am honored to serve as QUA. I love reading your fiction, and I definitely love working with all of you. Here's to us.

Well, it seems that the DB site is having fun with eating everyone's ranks on the House rosters, not just our own. I'm not sure why, or if it's even doing it to everyone, but it certainly is for me, which is annoying. Speaking of ranks, who out there is feeling ready of a promotion? For those or rank Guardian through Priest, you now have a set method for gaining your promotions, which you can garner whenever youf eel the desire! That's right, the Trials have begun. Our own Trial Master, telona Murrage, has set up a website for the Trials, and are open to those, again, of ranks Guardian through Priest. For those below these ranks, I'd like to also mention what needs to be done for promotion.

For the promotion of Novice to Acolyte, my only requirement is that you complete the Character History for your profile on the DB site. That's it. Just write up a history for your character, and get a promotion. Histories help us all to become acquainted with one another, and help us to write each other in our stories, run-ons, etc. For Acolyte to Protector, there are two choices. The first choice is to join a phyle, which requires that you pass the requirements of the Tetrarchs. These requiremnts are nothing impossible. It usually just involves a task for the TET to see how you will mesh with the group, such as an initiation story. The second option is to participate in the Master/Apprentice system. We have a number of willing Masters, which should allow you to find a Master, and work with him/her for the promotion to Protector. In this manner, I rely on the Master to let me know when the student is ready for the promotion. For Promotion to Guardian from Protector, it becomes a little more based on activity, and quality of work. Again, I rely on the Tetrarchs and Masters to help me to know when junior members are prepared for the next rank. Once you have reached Guardian, it is still a good idea to remain with your Master, as they can help you attain your goals, and get you familiar with how we work. But, after that, yes, you get to participate in the Trials. For more info on the Trials, please contact our House Trial Master, Telona Murrage, at: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

For a list of Masters, the following have Apprentices, or are available to take on Apprentices:

KE Ciara Tearnan (Yes, even our beloved CON has said she'll take an Apprentice): [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

KAP Kodiak Tonaloc: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

KAP Aari Nikus (Apprentice: Jade Avius): [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

KAP Sith Bloodfyre (Yep, li'l old Sithie me): [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

KP 'Doc' Hades: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

KP Kidouses: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

DJK Knight Camile (Aprentice: Night-Elf Illidian StormRage): [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

DJK Jason Hunter: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

So that should give you an idea who you can get in touch with about finding a Master, if you'd like one.

Also, I recently (finally) had time to sit down and read through all the submissions I received for our Septemeber House competition. Honorable mention goes to those five of you who did have time and ideas to submit to the comp, in no particular order: Telona Murrage, Knight Camile, Jason Hunter, Kidouses and Jade Avius. I enjoyed reading them, and I appreciate the effort you made to writing such excellent stories. The winners of the competition, however, are:

3rd place: Kidouses

2nd place: Knight Camile

1st place: Jason Hunter

All five were excellent, superbly written, and yes, I enjoyed reading all of them. You should all be proud of your work. I am. =)

And yes, that brings this report to a close. See you in a week guys. Yay!
