Well so as not to break character... Howdy Y'all! Seriously though, I wanted to take the time to collect some thoughts and arrange my plans just a little bit better before putting a lengthy post up here. I've done that and I think you'll be pleased with what I have to say.

I'm going to cover some basic expectations that I have of all the Obelisk forces here. In addition, I want to tell you all what I feel you can expect of me. Lastly I'll cover some of my more immediate plans for the Order as a whole.

What I expect here is really simple. We are all here to have fun. In that spirit, I only ask that people participate (cause how else are you gonna have any fun that means PLAY) and that people respect each other here (joking and razzing is great but lets try to be good sports in both winning and loosing). I love seeing folks on IRC cause really thats where everything happens. If you don't IRC or dont know how to use it and yet want to.. got to MIRC.COM and download it. Then, email me and I'll be happy to tell you some basics so that you can get online and chatter away with the rest of us.

Speaking of IRC, you can expect to see ME there alot. I might not always answer right away but I do see the messages that come in while I am away when I return and will answer when I get them or look for you when yer online to see what ya need. In short, I am available, I will listen to any suggestions or ideas you might have because the Obelisk order belongs to its troops and in a sense I am y'alls servant (dont get any ideas though punks hehe). You can expect a great deal of effort from me (well outline this in just a bit but trust me for now). I know some could easily be concerned by what seems like a short tenure here. My previous stint in the DB was about 8 months and in that time I was tetrarch of the Jade Serpents of Naga Sadow (that's Independant House Naga Sadow mind you). So I might have new clothes, but I am old school. Have no doubts that I intend to earn the approval of each and every doubter that might exist :) And, of course, you can expect me to be pretty informal. Anyone Obelisk or otherwise can expect to recieve help if they ask or an ear if they have ideas or suggestions. As I said earlier I am here for yall plain and simple.

Now ON TO THE FUN STUFF! Here is a short list and a rough idea of the time frame I am aiming for on the items that make it up. Keep in mind that NONE of this is set in stone.

1.. Vendetta events are in my hands and will be leaving them before the night is out. I can assure yall that Astatine and FF are working to crank this out for us all.

2.. External Competition for DB members. The Sith have been having some success and I like their innitiative on this so I want us to start taking the Smack Down to the public at large. WoW is where I think we are going to start. SHW Knuckles is helping us in this endeavor and you are all encouraged to go to Battlestats.com to register. We are club 3255 (initials DJB). There will be much more to come on this later and I am aiming to have us up and active on this by the end of September at the latest. In NO way is WoW where I intend to stop with this. You guys can take soooo many clans on the web right now, I myself will be frightened of yall once you are tempered in the fire of constant war.

3.. There will in the near future be a DB wide Ladder. While this ladder will be by and for the Obelisk, I am considering NOT having it restricted to Obelisk in participation. I aim for this target date to be within 2 months and it will be a continous ladder that will allow challenges up to so many positions above your own. Again, more to come on this later.

4.. I have already selected a few, and will be looking for more tournament hosts for some upcoming new events. In addition, Zetar will be taking his Clan Tourney to DB wide status. Its on Tuesdays so be sure to show him yer luv! More word on coming tourneys will be forthcoming.. on that I will leave you with the tidbit that some of these will be monthly events and will carry some sort of minor (VERY) minor possession. The possessions have yet to be worked out but I will do my best to make sure they are something yall will really enjoy.

5.. I intend to initiate an Order award for the Obelisk house that does the most to serve/advance the Order in a given month. for the next month, that house will carry that award with pride and if they continue to rule, they'll continue to carry it for the next month... unless of course some other house has the Big Bad Mojo to snatch it away from them. Implementation on this has not been decided but target on this is the end of September at which time it WILL be awarded.

Well, for now, that's it. I hope this allays any fears that I may not have a plan for us, cause I do. I hope this shows that you have my committent to take us to the next level, cause you do. I hope yer still awake.. hehe. In closing, I would like to offer the thanks of the Obelisk Order to our outgoing Obelisk High Commander Sharad Hett. Sharad paved the way for us to move onward and we pay him honor.
