A word for the Phyle...

A SotN Roll Call was initiated on the 26th of November, it was to run for three days. This was done because there has been an unreal lack of activity in SotN (as well as the DB in general in some cases). It is high time that we looked at participation and not how cool the roster looks with all the names in it. It has become exhausting trying to muster even the slightest response from some people. So I e-mailed the Phyle and requested a response from those who still wish to be "active" despite whether they have done anything in the past couple of weeks or not.

The response was as I expected. Orso and TK were right on top of it, as they always are and can be counted to participate in anything 90% of the time. Sylph jumped right in, even being new to us, with a reply when he didn't even know what was going on. Acklay replied as well, though hasn't participated in anything for the past two weeks. Dimitri chimed in later thankfully and asked "how often do you do roll calls?". This is the first I have done, to answer his question.

If this is a direct reflection of me as TET, then tell me where I have gone wrong performing the job. I have left my e-mail open since I have come on and insisted that you come to me if you have any problems or ideas whatsoever. I have been there for you, and in some cases have gone above and beyond to help you out. Personal feelings aside, (you know who you are), if I am not doing what you need as a TET, then I request that you tell me why. If you do not, then I will go on assuming that there are some in our Phyle that should be "rogue" sooner than later.

I, as well as certain summit members, understand that I cannot force you to participate in anything. As in life, it is all a choice, and if you choose not to participate in even the slightest activity for your benefit, then I choose not to have you in SotN. There are exceptions, like TK for example. He has other commitments elsewhere, I understand that, yet he makes the effort all of the time to participate in what he can. Orso is always around and most likely wishing that I would stop sending mail. Some are in school or work and other various RL stuff that takes their time. But that is to say that you don't have 5 minutes to drop an e-mail that reads "I'm still alive...I'm just busy...be back when I can!!!"?

The reason for my frustration is confusing to even myself. The DB is a good time usually, there are a lot of incredible minds here, even in our Phyle. I want us to excel, perhaps too much. I don't expect this to EVER take precedence over RL but it can be a blast if you just get involved. Anyway, enough of that...on to the report.
