*First off,our House comp ended yesterday with a winner by default: the recently promoted Brenn Tantor.Congrats Brenn!You get a shiny new Crescent:).You can read his submission at the end of the report.
A new comp will be out by Monday.
*Newsletter,newsletter.....I only miss 2 reviews,one on a movie and the other on a CD.I have asked them but if anyone wishes to write something down,you can choose whatever movie or CD you'd like,SW-related or not.If I don't use your submissiom,this time around,I'll use it next time.:)
*Medals and promotions.Went out several this week.Congrats to:

Christmas just isn't Christmas without the pudding! Find a recipe for Figgy Pudding online and replace the ingredients with Star Wars Food and Drink! The most original (and tasty sounding) will win!

And it certainly isn't Christmas without the kitsch! Rewrite "Twas the night before Christmas" to a Dark Jedi theme.

*Chancellor's Competition:In the spirit of Christmas,he has decided to make a small competition. Your task is to rewrite "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" to reflect him, the Chancellor. The best submission will win a Diamond Crescent, and the second and third place will earn a Ruby and Amethyst Crescent, respectively. You can find the lyrics of the song here and all submissions are due to the Chancellor a week from today, 12/28/02. Have fun :P

Topic:why I joined Dominatus
My father was a Jedi Knight as was his father before him. Before my father left he began to teach me the ways of the force as his father had taught him. During these lesson's he would speak of many things. The nature of the force and how it affected all things. Often he would speak of his father, a man I never met. Inevitably these conversations would turn to the little Jedi Master who had been a great friend to my grandfather and a teacher and mentor to my father. Often he would talk about how my grandfather had saved the life of the master and how the master had sworn to protect and teach all Tantor's until his dying day. When my father disappeared it tore my heart from my chest. It was only years later that I learned that he'd left to protect me from the Emperor's Jedi hunters.
Over the years my ability to use the force diminished but the stories my father told me of the little Jedi Master stayed with me. Throughout my life first as a navigator on a freighter then a pilot flying Y-Wings for the Rebel Alliance and finally a pilot in the Cloud City guard I never forgot what he told me. When my life took a turn for the worse and my wife left me and I was being hunted daily by bounty hunter's I began to think it was all just a story my father had told me to get me to perform my exercises, why hadn't the little Jedi come to save me? Eventually I heard of a place out on the rim called the Minos Cluster. Thinking this would be a good place to start a new life I caught a transport there. Taking a job as a starship mechanic I thought I was safe. I'd begun to live again but there was always an empty spot in my heart. I always thought it was just because I was missing my son but it was something else. Quitting my job I hopped a transport to the Shadow Academy to see if I still had what it took to be a Jedi.
After months of rigorous training I graduated from the Academy, not the most powerful student but certainly not the weakest. When the time came to join a house I began to look around at the various houses when something caught my eye. A name in the rolls of House Dominatus, a name Id not heard since I was a small child. Bant Komad. Travelling to the library complex of Dominatus I asked to meet with Bant to see if it was indeed the same person my father had been talking about. As I waited I began to scan the shelves of books when I heard a small voice behind me. Turning I saw the small green little man who had a look bordering on shock on his face. He must have thought he was dreaming seeing my grandfather, a man he'd seen die some forty years previously, standing before him. My father had always told me I was the spitting image of my grandfather. After meeting and speaking with Bant I decided this was the place I belonged. With Bant taking me as his apprentice a space in his life was also once again filled for he could now continue to fulfil the pledge he'd made to my grandfather all those years ago.
