Aedile Report

<bow>

I hereby submit the first Aedile report for House Galthain on January 25th.

Since this is my first report as Aedile, I'm trying out a sample format that may or may not work. Depending on what people think of it, I'll modify it, make additions or completely change the setup if necessary. My report will be focusing on the competitions going around in House Galthain along with the Challenges, Multiplayer events, , etc. All right, enough chit chat! Let's get this started!

News

-It’s been a pretty lazy week (at least for me). Round Robin, Round 2 will be coming to a close tomorrow, but there have not been as many submissions for it as I would like to see. In the future I would like to see House Galthain go up against the Sith Houses and Battleteams in other Clans. We’ve got some of the best pilots around in our House and I know we can take on any challenges we encounter. I’ll be working with SBL Pyralis and the Battleteam Leaders towards this effort.

-This past week has also seen a sudden increase in the number of challenges going on! DJK Vessicant and I completed our challenge a little while ago, but we’ve also got two more going on along with 2 or 3 more probable challenges that should commence shortly. I’d like to see this continue as challenges are an excellent way to test your skills with TIE, XvT, or XWA against someone else.

-SBL Pyralis and I have also been in contact with OWL Rizzo (I think that’s his rank), who has been creating a webpage for Galthain. His most recent work has been absolutely outstanding! Once he finishes creating the webpage (and once I find someone to code it), we will allow you all to view it and use it.

-I received a few replies to the polls I sent out a while ago, but from those polls I’ve been deciding on a date where Galthain members can get on IRC and play MP matches against each other. The best days so far look like Monday and Friday. Right now Monday is looking like the best day to set the date since it’s likely people have made plans to do other things in rl on Friday, but I’m still working on setting a time for the event. The multiplayer event will be put into effect after I return to college this Sunday.

-Also, I’ve been communicating with the Battleteam Leaders about different kinds of competitions that we could run for Galthain. Currently, the idea to start a wargame has been the most popular. GRD Big Daddy submitted an excellent idea for how to organize and run the wargame. He and I have been in contact and will be working out the details with Pyralis and the other Battleteam Leaders.

-Finally, I know this might seem a little bit late, but I’ve decided to include the results of my Dark Jedi Song Competition in my report. SBL Ricardo got 1st place and a Cr-1S in the competition while SWL Drako got a Cr-1E and 2nd place. No one got 3rd place because not enough people submitted for the competition. I know that this wasn’t a typical Sith competition, but I still think that more than 2 people could have submitted. I’ll try and organize a more effective competition next time.

Competitions

ROUND ROBIN COMPETITION, ROUND 2

SBL Pyralis sent out a reminder on the 23rd, but I am going to include another one.

You have until Midnight, tomorrow, to send in your pilot files for this competition.

You must email Pyralis ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) and I ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) along with your Battleteam Leader (Big Daddy: [Log in to view e-mail addresses], Delak: [Log in to view e-mail addresses], Dark Hawk ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]).

The battles are TIE-TC 199, XvT-DB 7, and XWA-TC 23.

The high scores are 195,705, 403, 649, and 87, 274 respectively.

You can get TIE-TC 199 at http://www.emperorshammer.net/battles/battle.asp?record=794

You can get XvT-DB 7 at http://www.emperorshammer.net/battles/battle.asp?record=846

You can get XWA-TC 23 at http://www.emperorshammer.net/battles/battle.asp?record=630

You will be awarded points for your battle scores depending on how close you are to the battle high score. The closer you are, the more points you will award to your squadron. If you get even 15% of the battle high score, you’ll award a point to your squadron. 30% more of the battle high score gets your squadron 2 points, 45% gets your squadron 3 points, and so on. 100% of the high score will get your squadron 8 points.

At the end of the competition, the squadron with the most points will win.

The following are lists of the pilots who have flown some or all of the competition battles for their squadron.

Open Challenges

This week has seen multiple open challenges going around Galthain. DJK Vessicant challenged me to a duel and we both flew TIE-FREE 94. It was a very close match. I won by just a few thousand points, which translates to only a few more starfighters destroyed than him.

Now that DJK Vessicant and my challenge is over, I believe he will be challenging SW DarkHawk. The details of that competition are to come out later on...IF DarkHawk accepts the challenge.

SBL Pyralis challenged GRD Draco Caanis to a duel. They are to fly XWA-TC 17 and should complete it by this coming Monday.

GRD Delak challenged SBL Pyralis to a duel. They are to fly XvT-FREE 11 by next Sunday.

SW Blade Kilraven also put out a challenge to anyone who's willing to fly a TIE battle. OBL Mage said he would be willing to take up the challenge, but needs to conclude a match with SW Mell Kerrigan. Mell agreed that he and OBL Mage would fly a TIE battle instead of a XWA battle...I guess when Mell gets back he'll name a battle for them to fly.

There are no other challenges aside from these that I know of.

Multiplayer Events

There currently is no MP event just for Galthain (as I said, I am setting a date so that this will change), however the “Worth it?!” CSK Competition is still on (as far as I know.) Here are the current standings for the Sith Ladder.

#1: Big Daddy, 11 points

#2: Pyralis, 6 points

#3: Reinthaler, 4 points

#5: Gord Darkonian, 1 point

#7: Delak, 0 points,

#8: Draco Caanis, 0 points

#9: Luke Morin, 0 points

Here are the rules you must follow for the ladder and the instructions for how to sign up (as taken from the instructions and rules Pyralis wrote):

1)You can fly a maximum of 5 matches against another person. This will allow one of the two opponents to get a maximum of 3 wins.

2)You cannot have more than 3 wins against a specific opponent.

3)The only matches you can post for the ladder are 1v1 matches.

To join the Worth It?! Ladder:

2)Click on “Worth It?! clan competition, Sith Ladder”

3)Click on “Sign up for this Ladder”

4)Enter your DB PIN in the designated box.

5)After you read the Ladder rules, check the box to agree to those rules.

6)Click on “Sign up!”

You will now be added to the ladder.

To report a match:

1)Login to the database with your DB PIN and the password you use for the DB database.

2)Go to: http://www.minos.net/~csk/match.php (The “Report Match” section)

3)Select the “Worth It?! Clan competition, Sith Ladder

4)Enter the number of players as “2”.

5)Enter your PIN # in the box next to “PIN #1” and the score you received for the match in the box next to “Score #1”.

6)Enter your opponent’s PIN # in the box next to “PIN #2” and the score they received for the match in the box next to “Score #2”.

7)Check to make sure that all of the information is correct, then click “Report Match”.

Multiplayer flying is very challenging and may require a lot more skill than single player flying, but it is a lot of fun.

Last Words

I’m happy with the performance of Galthain this week, but I know we can do better. We’ve got all the skills and tools we need to best any other House in the Dark Brotherhood! We just have to use them. So why don’t we? :-P
