Capis

Western Reaches

The Ascendant Legion marched on the headquarters - a bonafide fortress - of the Order of Vader. The relatively unknown enemy was almost like a stitch in time. Their equipment, uniforms, and even tactics were Imperial vanilla. The Dread Lord had lived through this once, as had some of the Ascendant forces assembled on the battlefield, which gave them a tactical advantage. However, because of the destruction of the Ascendant Fleet, this left the Plagueis forces at a distinct disadvantage. Their fleet, for many years, was what kept Plagueis on top.

Teylas Ramar di Plagia, bunkered into a AT-TE, modified to be a command center, was issuing orders to the battlefield as he watched the fighting from a small holographic projector. It was practically a stalemate as the main Ascendant forces attacked from the gate of the fortress. Meanwhile House Karness Muur and Ajunta Pall attacked from the flank in a three-pronged attack. Added to that, a small infiltration team consisting of Tra'an Reith di Plagia, Taranae Rhode, and Silent had snuck into the facility to obtain intelligence that could prove pivotal to a Plagueian victory.

Grabbing the comm device in the walker Teylas activated it, "Has anyone spotted that traitor Lorne?"

"Negative," came a voice over the comm.

It had been discovered that Lorne was secretly working for this Imperial remnant, likely setting up the destruction of the Ascendant Fleet. When suspicion grew he fled through the Plagueian battle lines and to his allies. Betraying the trust of the Grand Master, Inquisitorius, and Dread Lord was no small matter, and a kill on sight order had been issued by the Consul of Clan Plagueis.

"Sir, we've got another round of missiles incoming," the pilot of the walker yelled.

"Deploy counter measures," the Anzat responded plainly.

"We used the last of our flares on the last battery. We've got one headed right for us."

The Dread Lord reached out with the Force looking for the missile. With extreme concentration he reached his arm forward, eyes closed, and found the target of his focus. The missile was headed right for his command walker, and was sure to deal a destructive blow. Pulling on his full power of the Force, Teylas began to project all his telekinetic mastery at the missile. The missile began to shake until finally the Dread Lord was successful: the missile crumped into a small ball and fell right to the ground.

The diversion of the missile was successful, but certainly exhausting for the consul. Taking a moment to recuperate he grabbed the walkers comm unit again, "All forces begin scorching maneuvers. Leave nothing of that fortress standing."

"We've got report that ships are launching. They're fleeing," one of the gunners reported.

"Damn it. Our ships in orbit are barely armed. Target their ships with our land based weapons. Try to take as many out as we can, then extract our team and we'll lay waste to this dump," the Dread Lord gave the final order.

Conference Room

The Pinnacle

Aliso

Several Days Later

"So what did we learn?" the Dread Lord asked inquisitively as he stared out of a top-level window of the Pinnacle, overlooking Aliso.

Tarane Rhode stepped forward holding a datapad, "Not much. Most of their data was encrypted, and only droids were left behind. We can't even be sure that they were the ones that destroyed the Ascendant Fleet."

"Lorne was the one that gave us the 'intelligence' implicating them. The whole thing could've been a lie," Arden Karn di Plagia stated matter of factly.

"To what end?" Malice interjected.

The assembled leadership of Plagueis looked at each other. Finally Dracaryis spoke up, "It makes no sense."

Teylas finally turned to face the rest of his staff, "We may never know, but we now have an enemy on the run. Whatever the reason is that they attacked us doesn't matter. We don't even know if that was their headquarters as Lorne suggested. It could've just been a small outpost, and Lorne was able to get from our grasp. This wasn't a bright spot on our record, but we'll rebuild and be ready for them next time."

The Summit collectively nodded in agreement.

But the fact remained: after this, there were still more questions than answers. It certainly was only the beginning of the Order of Vader or Crandl Lorne.

This time around, we had three events that crossed the 10 entry threshold, but every event got close to 10! So close!

With the final round completed, this is where the individual results ended up shaking out:

  • 1st: Tra'an Reith di Plagia, 138.5 points
  • 2nd: Taranae Rhode, 137.5 points
  • 3rd: Silent, 136.5 points

This was by far the closest finish we’ve ever seen for individual placements. It was a hard fought event that really came down to the wire for a photo finish. Congrats to all of our top three finishers on such a great and competitive showing.

Unit results were not quite as close, but the margin of victory for the winning house was to be fairly narrow:

  • 1st: House Karness Muur: 559.5 points
  • 2nd: House Ajunta Pall: 524 points

Entry wise, Karness Muur had the edge with 103 entries to Ajunta Pall’s 80 entries. However, even with a 33 entry advantage, Ajunta Pall was within 36 points of winning (which could have been earned with only 8 total entries!). The lesson to take here is that even a few entries here or there can be the difference, so ahead or behind make sure you get everything in you can!

Future!

For now Clan Plagueis will be taking a nice break from major eventing. We've had a really packed past 3 months. In previous reports I've alluded to the fact that I wanted to push people to the limit to get an idea of what was an acceptable range of activity to provide. I think we've got a pretty good idea of that between the Plagueis Pro Bowl and A Call to Arms. While we didn't see as much activity in A Call to Arms as we did in the Pro Bowl, it was still very impressive. It's also kind of hard to beat the amazing activity we saw in the Pro Bowl.

Rest assured though that plans are already brewing for the next even, quite a bit away, where we'll be revisiting an old ally.
