Great Hunt V Fiction Update

Bakura - Unsettled Mountain Range Mysterious Temple Captain Mar’Vel Wonder

It had been a long time coming. Her path was finally unveiled. This temple was old, and it had archaic writings and some pictograms all over the walls in giant murals. Mar’Vel had never seen anything to this magnitude. An R2 unit she brought with her was taking images of the surrounding room as she looked around. There were images of three beings on the walls and she knew it was a clue to the mystery of Mortis.

After several hours of searching the temple and recording all of its details, Mar’Vel and the droid discovered nothing that would help her with her mission. They did, however, find pictures of a planet with three suns and two moons. “Batuu,” she said to herself. “This must be the next clue we need to unlock the world between worlds.” With her discovery made she boarded her ship with the R2 unit and lifted off towards the stars once again. She tapped the coordinates for Batuu into her NavComp and the stars turned into streaks and then the blue swirl of hyperspace engulfed her.

Bakura - Unsettled Mountain Range Mysterious Temple Idris Adann

Idris had been following leads dealing with the Children of Mortis for a little while before any information had been divulged to the clans. Mar’Vel Wonder had been high on his radar since the raids began coming out of Zsoldos space. Vizsla was smack in the middle of something that they didn’t yet understand. The Force had brought Idriss to Bakura and into the deep mountains where his wait began. The signs had not yet been made clear to him. After a couple of days of waiting an old style assault freighter dropped through the clouds and landed near a structure just north of the Mandalorian’s location. He moved in quietly trying to get as close as possible. A figure emerged from the ships hold along with an R2 unit and they vanished into the temple structure. He waited to make sure no one was coming out of the ship or temple before making his move. Quickly the Mando slipped onto the freighter and with a few turns of a screw one of the panels leading to the ship’s interior was opened. A tracking beacon was a great tool when no one knew it was aboard. Idris, having fulfilled his subterfuge, left the ship and headed back to his own ship. After a few hours the figure, who he assumed was Mar’Vel, finally left the temple with the droid in tow. They left the atmosphere and headed for hyperspace.

Bakura - Salis D’aar Transport Hub Idris Adann

Idris had been monitoring security channels out of Vizsla space and knew Korvis, Kanal, and a few others from the clan were on their way to the main city of Salis D’aar. There he waited near transport hubs waiting to see if anyone showed up. Luckily, he saw two Mandalorians in full armor heading towards a transport unit. After a little commotion onboard a shuttle, Idris slipped onboard to confront them.

“Batuu, she went to Batuu.”

“You made that much harder than you had to.” Korvis said, “Now the other of my kind?”

“Leave him be you brute,” Korvis heard a familiar voice from behind him, “When are you gonna learn there are better ways of getting what you want.”

Spinning around quickly Korvis saw the familiar armor of his old friend. Idris Adann standing there as if he had never left Vizsla to become the Voice of the Brotherhood.

“Idris, you are a long way out.” Korvis stated as the two shook hands.

“I have been following a group of people called Mortis and it seems our paths have become intertwined.” Idris explained. I believe you are following a target named Mar’Vel. She was here but no longer. I have placed a tracker on her ship. I have determined that she has been lead to the planet Batuu.”

“Batuu?” Kanal questioned. “That is one heck of a backwater world to visit.”

“But also a good place to hide details for a secret cult.” Korvis interjected.

“My thoughts exactly.” Idris chimed in. “That is where we are going. Prepare your ships.”

This is the intro for the final month of our story arc and I have had a blast with this hunt as well as adding our current DB storyline into it on the fly to make it that much more interesting. I hope you have all been enjoying the story as much as I have enjoyed writing about it for you. Brim and I appreciate all of your hard work in making this a successful campaign.
