ACC: Fading Light Rules

All,

The Dark Council and Dark Summit have spent the last week reviewing and editing the rules for our upcoming ACC tournament. The finalized rules are the result of a democratic process that used a majority vote to determine what things were changed or reworded. The final results are not perfect, but they are fair and intended to provide a balanced playing field for the entire DJB.

The most important thing for members is to update your character sheets. You have this entire weekend to do that. After the 12th, we can't promise your sheets will be approved in time for the 17th start date (btw, we will attempt to approve sheets as fast as we can to support everyone participating).

points at Raken's report. Same questions to you (Also: What happens if both members in the match time out? How are disqualifcations handled with participation points?). Whomever answers first gets the heart of Mav on a silver platter!

Hey Sarin,

2 quick questions. First, concerning Point #12...how do two people in one combat time-out? Generally, a battle is closed once one participant Times-out, unless I'm confused as to how the battles are working. I just don't think there is such a thing as Double-TOs for a regular ACC battle.

Second question regards participation, and what specifically does one need to do to be granted participation credit in this event. Do they need to do one post? Complete a battle?

Thanks

(I suppose two time outs isn't a thing. At all. But what about a time out and then a disqualification for going over the word limit?)

Good Catch! The wording is incorrect, but the premise of the rule stands. We are updating to the below.

12) In the event of a double disqualification, a bye will be granted to the opponent of that particular bracket. E.g., if member A is to fight the winner of a battle between members B and C, and both are disqualified for any reasons (timeout, Major Detractors), member A will receive a bye. Additional first round byes may be needed due to uneven participation numbers. These byes will be awarded to ACC Beta Tournament Testers first.

That should answer the DQ + Timeout question.

I'll let Raken handle the larger Fading light question.

Two timeouts isn't - the intent was if one person is DQ'd but we messed that one up. Will be fixed.

Participation: I favor the requirement that a member must complete at least one battle, because it's totally possible they could get shuffled through on timeouts for a couple rounds, but that doesn't mean they participated. I'll bring it up.

only way I can see a double time out is if both dont post anything, period.
