Americas & Europe DJB Diablo 3 Clans are now Live!

With Patch 2.01 going live for Diablo 3 there are now Clans and Communities available for members. A Clan in Diablo 3 is basically the same thing as a Guild in an MMO, it allows you to easily see who from your group of friends is online and gives you a Clan Chat function. You can only be in one at a time.

A Community is basically just a big Chat room, you can be in several at one time. We might end up making a DJB Community down the road, for now we're just a Clan though.

America's Battle.net Server Info

Clan name is "Dark Brotherhood" Clan Tag is "DJB".

As we're bringing in members over the next few days I have it set to allow anyone within the Guild to invite, so you won't need to wait for an Officer to log in. I'll change that in a few weeks most likely. There's a decent amount of folks already in this Clan, so getting an invite should be pretty easy. You can also request an invite by looking the Clan up in the Clan Finder.

Europe's Battle.net Server Info

Clan name is "The Dark Brotherhood" Clan Tag is "DJB"

Right now I'm the only person in this Clan. Send a request for an invite over, I'll try to log in every few days and check to see if we've got any requests. If you want a faster turnaround send me an email that you requested to join.

Asia Battle.net Server Info (aka - Val, why u no?)

I didn't make one. No, I'm not racist. The game wanted me to patch a bunch of stuff to even log in. If we have anyone out there playing on the Asia server feel free to create a Clan for your fellow members, try to follow the naming convention I used for the Europe and America Servers if possible. Send me the info and I'll add it here.

Currently I don't see an option in the Blizzard Diablo 3 Profile pages to view a Clan page. Hopefully one will be coming soon!

Note: You should be able to see the Clan in the Clan Finder and request to join. The next time someone in the Clan logs in they can accept your request and you'll be in. No need to find a person online at the exact same time as you!

Sigh...

Will we HAVE to join this in order to earn Clusters of Fire?

I do believe you may want to add some more informations than just the battle tag to a) character sheets b) news

https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/global-play

Because I am pretty sure the clan is the US-battle.net and not Europe neither Asia. And the DJB is a worldwide fan club.

Global Play may allow you to join the US-clan, but seriously... it has many restrictions (see webpage) AND the Ping will be awesome (not!). Latter is a killer (literally) when facing bosses in high MPs. For other games you are still restricted to your region battle net. Which makes sense since I honestly don't want to play on a server with a ping > 100ms. Even now the ToR duels are giving an advantage to US players since their ping will be considerately lower than any European / Asian player. (PvP with 35ms rocks).

Considering this, will there be any rules considering the Clusters of Fires and having to be in that clan? Will there be European / Asian clans?

Just to explain some more details:

A battle net player in the US Battle.net CAN'T play with someone in the EU battle.net. Not even communicate. You can't find each other. You can't add them on your friendslist.

So a battle net tag without the information in which region you play is close to pointless - unless you want to shut out EU / Asian players.

Sil has a good point, especially about the lag problems of international servers -- I have crap enough latency if I'm trying to play with a person in the next room :P

If we want to make any list of battletags somewhere, maybe it can group them by region, then, to make knowing who to try and friend request better than trial and error? (At first, I was going to suggest grouping it based on the country someone's assigned to their Dossier, but I guess that's not always reliable if they do choose to play globally.)

Awesome Val, I'm glad to see the DB has another forum to communicate and organize group play in game. There were probably a lot of in game group runs that were missed out on because I lacked people's battenet information. Great work.

  • I was going to complain too, but I figured that was already covered.

Nobody is complaining... it's a cool new feature, and props to Val for that.

That's why we're brainstorming ideas for how to have everyone get the same benefits :)

Eh, I've been playing on the Americas server myself for the better part of a month - while being euro-based. And I have had zero problems with Diablo.

You clearly don't use BT Internet... the UK is in the Stone Age compared to most of you guys across the Channel :P

Well, I'm still rocking ADSL instead of VDSL2, so my internet is pretty bad considering the standard in 90% of my own country (damn provider isn't putting new lines till may this year).
I do wonder how this patch will change the awarding of CFs, since the entire game basically changed. Especially itemization seems to be very different.

I don't think that VDSL2 offers per se a better latency. It depends mostly on your router / modem and e.g. how the interweaving is configured for VDSL2. Still it would probably result in a maybe 10ms better latency.

If you want to improve your latency and you play across an ocean, the Battleping service may be more interesting for you. Though it may be against some ToS of some games.

I really would like to be able to clan with my irl friends who play Diablo, while still earning CFs when playing with DJB friends. Will that be possible? It wasn't in TOR and that was a real disappointment (considering the ridiculous number of WZs I ran every day).

Well, Ji. Seeing as how D3 isn't really an MMO. Restricting CFs to "clan-only" members may be a bit silly, especially since there's not a lot of actual benefits from being in a D3 clan except easier communication between the people in it.
Just my opinion anyway.

There will be no requirement to be in the D3 Clan to earn CFs. This is purely for social purposes.

If you'd like to make a Clan for the DJB in another region go for it. Let me know and I'll add info to the associated threads / News posts on it. Or I can see if I can connect to it and make it after I get home, realistically though someone who regularly plays in that region would be a better fit for the Clan Lead role, so they can promote officers etc.

CFs and how PoBs work will be getting changed based on the new Difficulty Settings and how Paragon is account wide right now. More to follow as we iron out the next system.

I think that was everything that got asked so far :p

Created a Europe Clan. The game wanted me to patch to make a Asia Clan, and I chose not to patch. Main post is updated.

I don't hate Asia! Sushi is awesome! Carry on...
