Greetings all,

Today I'm announcing the appointments of the new Combat Master and Wiki Tribune. To be honest, neither of these positions are glamorous by nature. Both jobs are what you make of them, and as we've seen in the past, can stagnate to the point of irrelevance in the wrong hands. Fortunately, I don't see that happening again any time soon.

The ACC is a difficult activity for the administrative staff. There is a lot for the Combat Master and his staff to deal with: Qualification exams, competitions/tournaments, judgments, venue additions, rule updates/changes, etc. It's a lot of work. What most of you might not realize is that judging an ACC battle is not the same as judging a fiction competition. You're not just choosing a winner. You have to make observations and explain your judgment, often adding comments and pointers, before the match can be finalized. This takes a good forty-five minutes to an hour.

The Wiki is a different beast altogether. A wiki is designed to be maintained by everyone who edits and, quite often, it maintains itself with only minor tweaks from staff members. But, the wiki is the single greatest resource the Brotherhood has. It stores all we do, all we've done, our detailed character information, or vendetta history… everything. Everything the DB has done is on the wiki. While maintaining this resource rarely garners big news post or amazing competitions, it is a vital part of the Brotherhood and takes a steady, guiding hand to ensure us members have freedoms and boundaries for creating our various articles.
