Fourth Echelon Guardsman Announced!

The CFs have been tallied and the Seneschal made sure the site didn't break. This morning an email went out to all the newly appointed Fourth Echelon Guardsman so they could begin the process of choosing their Dark Councilor to Guard (and the Accessory they get for it).

Here's the standings:

  • Selika Roh of Clan Plagueis with 1021 CFs (Guarding Muz)
  • Teylas Ramar of Clan Plagueis with 672 CFs (Guarding Valhavoc)
  • Valhavoc of the Dark Council with 589 CFs (Guarding Pravus)
  • Darth Pravus of the Dark Council with 555 CFs (Guarding James)
  • Montresor of Clan Plagueis with 130 CFs (Guarding Raken)
  • Kell Palpatine of House Scholae Palatinae with 90 CFs (Guarding Tagikori)
  • Invictus of Clan Arcona with 68 CFs (Guarding Socorra)
  • Quejo of Clan Taldryan with 48 CFs (choice pending)
  • Cethgus of Clan Arcona with 42 CFs (choice pending)

The top four slots had some pretty fierce competition, especially throughout the month of June. However there was still alot of room for an upset in the remaining five openings. Something worth noticing is that the top ranking folks are pairs of members who routinely game together. Selika and Teylas are often playing TOR and sometimes Diablo 3 with each other. Pravus and I pretty much stick with Diablo 3, but we when we game we are nearly always grouped up.

If you're a serious gamer, and want to get onto this list the best advice I can give you is to find a Gaming Battle Buddy who has similar platform interests and get to gaming together. Two people who played Pazaak together for a full quarter would earn 720 CFs assuming they played no other games (assuming a 50/50 win loss average - 8 CFs per day for 90 days). This puts them in second or third place! Add a third person into that mix and you're even further ahead.

Of course the bottom line in all of this is to have fun, I'm sure many folks on this list above would say they've had many times where they were gaming together and simply didn't think about submitting CFs. I know I'm guilty of doing this more than a few times. Play the games you enjoy with the people you enjoy grouping with and the CFs will come easily.

All GMRG Rank CF Standings

Out of curiosity I asked James to run the CFs for all Guardsmen, to see what kind of competition we have to look forward to in future Quarters. There's alot of hungry competitors out there, all of the current Fourth Echelon will have their work cut out for them as they move into the next quarter and these folks close in on Rank 10. Here's the Top 10 GMRG Guardsmen, of all Ranks:

  • Selika Roh with 1021 CFs
  • Sight Nortorshin with 982 CFs (GMRG VII)
  • Teylas Ramar with 672 CFs
  • Valhavoc with 589 CFs
  • Darth Pravus with 555 CFs
  • Mirus Hi'ija with 546 CFs (GMRG IX)
  • Edgar Drachen with 408 CFs (GMRG VI)
  • Turel Soreen with 402 CFs (GMRG VI)
  • Aabsdu di Plagia Dupar with 352 CFs (GMRG IX)
  • Arcia Cortel with 340 CFs (GMRG VI)

Mirus is 3 PoBs and 300 CFs from Rank 10, and Aabs is only 140 CFs from Rank 10. The chances of seeing these two killers on next Quarters Fourth Echelon Guardsman list is very high! Just a bit behind them is Sight, who needs 1 more PoB and 1000 CFs to his Rank 10. If not this Quarter, expect to see him in the following one.

And on to the 3rd Quarter Competition

That's all for this info blast! Congratulations on our first round of Fourth Echelon Guardsman in this new GMRG system, I hope you all enjoy and proudly display your Dark Councilor Accessories. For at least the next three months, you're the only person in the Club who has it!

Congrats to the 4th echelon! I'm gunning for ja ;p

congrats. at my pace, I'll be there in 2058

Just a query, but due to Valhavoc guarding Pravus and he then guarding James, I assume that means that at all times those three DC members are tied to each other and seem to be a fairly large target to take advantage of if one were looking to cause chaos in the DB.

Doesn't seem entirely smart to me.

Also congrats to all.

Depends... if someone considers a Grand Master, Dark Jedi Master, EQ4, and EQ3 (Teylas) a viable target, then it could be. Although groups that can bring that level of firepower to the table are pretty rare. There's also no requirement that Guardsmen are always with their assigned Councilor, basically its just when the Councilor requests them. Otherwise anyone in any position (from BTL up) couldn't really function as a Guardsmen, and that person's fictions would be pretty boring ("Hard at work watching the Herald make another Lightsaber today. Heard there was some kind of Crusade going on, wonder what that Battleteam I used to be part of is doing.")

That said, I've only seen the GMRG assignments incorporated into fiction a handful of times (Solus guarding Roni during Horizons Vendetta Run-On). The system is out there to reward the most active Rank 10 Gamers, if it fits into everything else then great. If it doesn't then Pravus has the option to bend or break some rules as he writes up the Club Fiction (he's not afraid to do it, I promise).

You comment on Pazaak, but in reality it's nigh on impossible to get to GMRG X because it's hard to get PoBs without playing ToR, or Diablo 3 (which isn't even SW).

It was slightly easier when there was a PoB weekly, but this has been downgraded to monthly. :\

Guardsman appointments have usually always been regarded as largely ceremonial anyways. Like, I'm sure Muz wouldn't want a member who's loyalties are as much to one of the Clans as to him hearing every little plan he's working on, etc etc. If it helps, you can probably just think of "today is a big ceremony day, those 9 people listed now get to walk next to the DCers like the little kids next to players at a soccer game" :P

Just like that crazy celebration on Naboo in Ep 1 - glowing orb and all!

They also get a nifty accessory :P Congrats, everyone!

Ceremonial or not, in another quarter or two we'll have DC members guarded by lighties ;)

and the masses... didn't care in the slightest :P

Andrelious - your information is wrong. PoBs are still given out weekly when all the requirements listed in the wiki are met. Check out any of my Reports and you'll see PoBs are given more often than monthly.

Actually this process of weekly PoBs only resumed after I became Fist and with the Coders help to set up a PVP Query in August 2013. Prior to that there was a large gap of time when no PVP PoBs were awarded.

Remember folks, knowing is half the battle!

The other half is 25% Red Lasers, and 25% Blue lasers.

Red lasers? Rebel!
