Alaris stepped away from the hologram and began walking slowly across the front of the room. “Now, I don’t know about y’all, but I sure as hell didn’t come down from the hills of Aliso and cross several thousand lightyears of void, fight my way through half of Nei’kapo, and jump out of a fraking shuttlecraft to teach the Technos lessons in humanity. Techo ain’t got no humanity. They’re the foot soldiers of a Force-user hatin’ mass murderin’ maniac, and they need to be de-stroyed.”

He gestured toward the hologram and the display changed. The map vanished, replaced by the stylized insignia of the Technocratic Guild and several rotating images of the cybernetic augmentations commonly used by its personnel. Arms. Eyes. Neural interfaces. Reinforced limbs. Pieces of machinery integrated so thoroughly into their owners that the Guild had once regarded the distinction between organic and artificial as an inconvenience waiting to be corrected.

“So we're going to make this simple.” Alaris clasped his hands behind his back again. “Each and every person under my command owes me one hundred Techno cybernetics. And I want my cybernetics!”
