Selika Roh's Letter of Reprimand Removed

Members of the Brotherhood -

I am pleased to announce the removal of Selika Roh's Letter of Reprimand.

As a reminder, Letters of Reprimand can be removed only if the criteria outlined in the Letter of Reprimand Removal Policy are met:

  1. The Justicar determines that the member has been completely rehabilitated;
  2. At least two years have passed; and
  3. The Justicar and Grand Master agree that there is no future benefit to having a public reference of the conviction on the member's dossier.

Keep in mind that this clause allows for the removal of the LoR only, but does not delete the case itself and record of the conviction from the CoJ records. A conviction is a conviction, and nothing in this post changes that. What this decision represents is a determination that Selika (better known as Slags) learned the lesson of his cheating and disreputable behavior conviction in DB 039 and that, particularly through his work as Herald, he has demonstrated full rehabilitation. Evant and I agree wholeheartedly that there is no remaining benefit to the club in having an LoR mar his dossier any longer.

I want to note that this LoR removal has some special significance to me personally, for two reasons. First, I was a member of then-House Plagueis when Slags was convicted along with the entire summit during the waning days of the Dark Crusade. I helped to fill the leadership vacuum left in the wake of the cheating scandal by becoming Aedile and then Proconsul. Monty and I worked hard to pull the unit together in the early days of that period, and Slags signaled an early and very sincere interest in wanting to move past his conviction and work to fix the damage it had caused. He returned to the House after a very brief stint in the rogues and helped us right the ship and, eventually, regain Clan status. He went on to lead the Clan very successfully as Consul before moving to the Dark Council where he has resided for the last three years.

Second, and more sentimentally, this is very likely my final official act as Justicar. It's been an honor to serve in this position for the last (almost) three years, and I want to thank everyone I've had the pleasure of working with for making an often-difficult role just a little bit easier. I hope that whoever takes up this mantle is as fortunate as I have been. So, to all of my past and current Hands and Appeals Panel members: Turel, Arden, Drac, Arch, DarkHawk, Farrin, Ciara, Alaris, Tahiri, Len, Koji, Atra, Marcus, Aldaric, Xolarin, Revak, Korvis, Tasha, and Ben, thank you! I also want to thank the Dark Councilors and Consuls I've worked with along the way, but you aren't rid of me quite yet. :P

The Grand Master and I have decided to GRANT Selika's request to have his Letter of Reprimand removed.

Congratulations, Slags.

It's always nice to see people transcend their past mistakes. Congrats, Slag.

This is absolutely amazing news. This was by far the most difficult case I ever had to prosecute as RHoJ. I attempted to recuse myself due being a member of Plagueis only months earlier and having a longstanding working relationship with the summit, the recusal was denied. Since that time, Slagar has been one of the single most influential people in the Brotherhood. His incredible work is only surpassed by his passion for the organization and dedication to bringing the best out of those around him. I am so so proud of him. This was a long time coming and I'm so glad that we finally get to see it. Congratulations, Slags. This is well earned.

That is awesome. Congratulations Slags!

Excellent. You are proof that a CoJ conviction does not define who you are as a person, leader, and club member. This is a great day, Slags. Congrats.
