Hello all,

News post observers have seen Bubba's announcement nominating me to be the next Grand Master of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. As such, I have prepared a Statement to the Electorate to outline a few of my plans and my approach to Grand Master. Alongside the discussion period for the next two weeks, I will be accepting questions from both the electorate and members of the DJB. Any questions and answers will be posted into the end of the Statement as they come! Please know, if your question doesn't show up, I've probably merged it with another question that covers the same topic or it's already been answered.

At this point it feels odd to describe who I am, as most of the prominent members already know or have encountered me by now. While my character has developed an actual name that wasn't just my gaming handle, I'm known as Atra due to my handle of AtraVentus. The Electorate knows me well as I've been working directly with many of them for the past several years. If you don't know me, I'm the sarcastic canuck trolling through the Discord.

I've been in the club about 15 years by now, starting off in Clan Naga Sadow and quickly charging up the ranks, becoming a QUA while still a JM3. I have held just about every clan position after that save for Consul itself while working in various Council magistrate positions—most notably helping Evant with Possessions and serving a long tenure in the ACC staff—then jumping straight to the Council with Regent and then Justicar for a term and a bit. Then I was selected to serve as Deputy Grand Master and the rest is history. I have always engaged with the membership to the best of my capabilities and demonstrated a willingness to not only "try", but to pivot when things need to.

Outside the club, I'm a Tech Lead working in FinTech managing teams of developers. Being a leadership role, this requires me to be well-organized and aware, paying attention to the needs of my team as well as our partners. Lots of documentation and meetings. So many meetings. These skills have helped me to operate within the confines of the club where I continue to work with a variety of individuals and personalities, needing to maintain a measured approach and a cool head. Within the club, I have met amazing friends and actually met up with several in person. These are some of my longest lasting friendships and are deeply valued.

I don't see those things ever changing, and I want to make sure others are afforded the same opportunities. I look forward to being able to do so.
