The Rogue Newsletter

A little while back, a few of us on the DC had decided that we needed to send out an occasional newsletter to those of us who have been in the club and left for whatever reasons. It's a common story: real life happens. That said, as we spend all of this time and energy trying to woo people to the club, to give us a try, and to learn all of our complexities, we have all but forgotten those who we already know loved us once.

As a response, we drafted up a quick list of things that have happened over the past year or so and got together an email that went out to every rogue earlier this week. The whole DC was involved on this project, and we've already seen some members come back because of this effort.

I figured that I would post it up here, so you can see what was being sent. Without further ado:

Dark Jedi Brotherhood

Newsletter of the Rogues

September 2014

It’s been a long time, hasn’t it?

We’ve missed you. We remember the fun you had back in the old days, chatting with awesome friends, playing in Great Jedi Wars, and bragging about the sweet medals and ranks on your dossier. You remember those great times, too.

You’re not going to believe me at first, but it’s even better now.

We’ve had some exceptional things happen. Huge projects have been completed, and the way we do things around the Brotherhood has changed. Other long-time projects are nearing release, while others are just starting up, and the Clans need people like never before. It’s time to get involved again and help get the Brotherhood ready for a new era of Star Wars!

Here is a handful of the awesome bits:

• A new WEBSITE was unleashed on the Dark Brotherhood. The site has been streamlined, with a crisp new DESIGN and almost NO LATENCY. It has all manner of awesome functionality, and if you haven’t checked it out, you really should.

• THE DARK CRUSADE - the longest Vendetta ever held is nearing the end, with every record for participation and turnaround shattered. This competition, a campaign into the Ancient SITH EMPIRE, has had us facing off with One Sith members and taking their worlds for our own. The final prize is coming, with Korriban (Moraband) in our sights for GREAT JEDI WAR XI, coming this January. Your Clan will need as much help as they can get to emerge victorious!

• Build your story in the Brotherhood like never before! A brand-new CHARACTER SHEET SYSTEM lets you bring your character to life! Customize skills and Force powers and build unique aspects of personality and combat styles! Whether you want to participate in fiction competitions and run-ons or challenge a friend in the revamped ANTEI COMBAT CENTER, the Dark Brotherhood puts you in control of your destiny!

• Remember those fancy medals, positions, and ranks you worked for? They're about to be worth much more with POSSESSIONS right around the corner! You can see a Beta calculation from your administration page right now! We want to make sure everyone gets what they earned in the past, so contact us to make sure your DOSSIER is updated with the correct medals and positions! Positions, medals, and ranks grant you CREDITS to buy awesome stuff soon!

• If you’ve been gone a while, you may not have noticed the Brotherhood has a LIGHT-SIDE OPTION. House Odan-Urr has been an inclusive house, exploring the Light Side of the Force. With three JEDI ORDERS based on New Tython, they have been challenging even the recently RECLANNED TALDRYAN and PLAGUEIS. If you’re looking for a way to play Jedi, or are just looking to shake things up, we’d be happy to have you back.

• Mobile Gaming Competitions are now a monthly occurrence within the Brotherhood for “on the go” gaming. Multiple Gamer IDs have been added to Dossiers and are searchable by Unit. We also have Guilds in several platforms such as, THE OLD REPUBLIC MMO, STARCRAFT 2, DIABLO 3, DESTINY, and STAR WARS COMMANDER. The Grand Master’s Royal Guard has been totally revamped, with permanent ranks and Accessories that can be earned each quarter. Check us out on TEAMSPEAK to start chatting!

• NEW STAR WARS MOVIES are coming, if you haven’t heard, and the Brotherhood is poised to take advantage of them. You can catch all the news and rumors about films, new games, the new STAR WARS REBELS show, and even the Brotherhood on our TWITTER FEED and FACEBOOK PAGE.

This is just a taste of what we’re doing. It’s a busy time in the Brotherhood and it’s greater by the minute. Come back and see what we’ve been building. You won’t be disappointed.

It needs images tbh.

I saw eleven people join the SA Society on Saturday. Usually it's not more than one or two in a given day. I think this thing worked. :P

I like how it links to the old Facebook page that hasn't been updated in four years :P

The new Facebook page might present a better image... despite not being updated in a little over a month.

I can volunteer for that, Solari :)

Seems kinda... cutsey?

Remember those fancy medals, etc you worked for? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Yeah... the https://www.facebook.com/darkjedibrotherhoodofficial one was the one that should have been attached. :(

Also, we thought about pics, but based on the delivery method...pics don't usually show up in everyone's email properly.

The pics things was a good call. It's not the case for all mail systems, but if you were to email a number people on our corporate network with image heavy emails the sender would have probably been black listed by our proxy.

I'm assuming there's a way to keep track of how successful it is? I'm curious to see those stats if they're available in the future.

^ Stats are awesome. Looks cool.

I dig this. Also stats would be awesome. Rejoin tracker?

I had originally asked for a unique transfer in form, but i think that got too code intensive. that said, we can see through analytics how many people click through to that page from email sites: hotmail, gmail, yahoo, etc.

This is probably the best idea I've seen in a long time. Thank you.

thx

We've seen a impulse in returning members in CNS, i'm not for sure if it was from our own recruiting or from the newsletter, but I like this idea and it looks great.
