Verdict in Case No. 62, DB vs. AnthonyH

Members of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood,

The Chamber of Justice has convened and issued a verdict in the pending case of DB v. AnthonyH. Following an investigation, AnthonyH was charged with seven counts of Cloning and one count of False Statements. AnthonyH ignored the charges and never responded to the Left Hand of Justice. As such, he forfeited the right to submit argument or evidence on his behalf at trial.

The detailed Verdict and Justicar's Opinion for the case can be found in the PDF file linked below. Please note that the written opinion is generally found on the page after announcement of the verdict.

The verdict was as follows:

Case #062 - DB v. AnthonyH - Opinion PDF

  • Seven Counts of Cloning
  • One Count of False Statements
  • Verdict: GUILTY
  • Punishment: EXPULSION

In this unusual case, given AnthonyH's repeated cloning and false statements made about the clone dossiers, coupled with the fact that he has been essentially inactive, I determined that ordinary sentences would likely be ineffective in preventing repeat behavior or in adequately punishing his egregious flaunting of this club's rules. As such, I decided to recommend expulsion.

The Covenant requires that all expulsion sentences be presented to a special Expulsion Jury composed of six active equites and elders, including one active member of the Dark Council. Expulsion requires at least a five out of six vote.

The Expulsion Jury was randomly selected and all members indicated that they were willing and able to serve. After several days of deliberation, the Expulsion Jury returned a unanimous vote in favor of expulsion. That sentence will be carried out immediately: AnthonyH and his clone accounts are no longer welcome in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, including in official and clan chats.

Signed and sealed in Justice,

Dacien Victae
Justicar of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood

a sad day in the Brotherhood

I'm not sure I'd describe it as a sad day. In fact, I'm reasonably happy that we have a solid system in place to address these matters. The expulsion makes sense as well based on the arguments made and I would have voted in favour as well.

Well done by the staff members involved in the investigation and decision. Thank you for taking the time in this matter.

well, it is a sad mark that a CoJ comes before us. Kinda like a blemish to the club. just my opinion

Eh. I see the club as having the opposite of a blemish by bringing justice to bad behavior. Members who ignore the rules don't necessarily reflect our community as a whole, and if there are consequences, so much the better for our look and philosophy as a group.

It's a sad day when the CoJ has to bring down the expulsion of a member. But much like a diseased hand, best to cut it off before it spreads.
