Finished? Good. Hello, yes, this is Wally. I wanted to throw up a quick news post to announce a really cool new feature that we’ve added to the DJB’s Character Sheet system. This involved some long discussions between members of the Voice Staff as well as the Dark Council. After the initial discussions, James, Mav, Evant, and myself locked ourselves in a Telegram room until we figured out all the logistics.
So, without further ado, I’m pleased to announce the launch of Additional Character Slots for alternate and non-player characters (NPCs).
In the Dark Jedi Brotherhood’s Fiction System, a member creates a dossier that is then tied to their Main Character. This Main Character is tied not only to the name on a member’s dossier, but to the robes, lightsaber, titles, and earned graphics that can be displayed on it. Every member is allowed to create a Character Sheet for their Main Character, which appears as the “Primary Character Sheet” on the Character Sheet Tab of the dossier. Every member is then able to build out their Main Character's Inventory through the "Possessions System" where they can then create a series of "Loadouts".
That all seems familiar, right? Now here comes the fancy new-fangled stuff:
(Thank you, ghost-James)
As I was saying: Beyond creating a Main Character Sheet, members of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood are now also able to purchase additional non-player character slots (NPCs). These NPCs mirror and follow the same guidelines and procedures as the Character Sheet's with a few small differences.
Additional Character Slots allow you to create and explore additional characters beyond your primary character without having to change name, dossier, and/or path. Depending on your rank, up to three slots are available that have a maximum rank relative to your own. The first slot can be toggled between Alternative Character and Non Player (support) Character mode, while the other two are limited to Non Player (support) Character mode.
Here is a quick guide on how to use this new feature. You can find this new feature on your Administration page under the “Your Character” pane.
This will bring you to a page where you can purchase your Additional slots. Once purchased, you will have a few different options available to you.
Here is a quick summary of what you will see:
Purchase - Allows a member to purchase the slot.
Manage - Provides a drop down menu with three or four options depending on the slot:
Character Sheet - Opens the Character Creation Tool to build your NPC CS.
Loadouts - Allows you to delegate Possessions Inventory to the NPC.
Character Details - Where a member can select name, gender, path, and order.
Toggle to (Alt/NPC) - First slot only - toggles the slot between Alternative Character and NPC designation.
The final result looks something like this!

How did we come up with the logistics for the credit value for NPC Character Slots? Fortunately, our loveable Regent is not called “Darth Logistics” for no reason. Below is a breakdown of Evant (and James’) process.
With the first opportunity to purchase at Equite I, the second at Equite III, and the final at Elder I. Using total lifetime average for each rank from possessions balancing documentation. Then looking at the % of actual credits at the time of purchase which would be less any originally purchased slots (for true value comparison at that time), then looking at the total credits that a member would have to invest to attain all the slots as a percentage of lifetime credits. Rounding to the nearest 5,000 credits for simplicity sake. The proposed 20,000, 40,000, 60,000 credit costs for the three slots would have a member interested in attaining all 3 on average having 15-18% of their total lifetime credits invested in extra CS slots. This puts it soundly in the trade-off discussion of higher end legendary weapons and ships for their main character, or keeping epic weapons and adding this extra permanent functionality to their dossier.
The next step in this process will be finalizing Snapshots for Character Sheets and Possessions. James, Evant, and Atra will be working on these next, and I just wanted to thank each of them for their continued and dedicated work to improving the Dark Jedi Brotherhood’s fictional systems and administration.
That’s all for now. If you spot any bugs or issues, please email us at [Log in to view e-mail addresses]. James is part of that group and it will allow us to more quickly fix things than if you try and mention it in a challen or PM on telegram. Any questions, let us know.
Thank you.
