Battlefront: Beta Test & PC Specs

Imgur

In a much awaited bit of news, last night Star Wars EA has finally shared with us the PC Required and Recommended Specs for Battlefront. This comes as we approach the start of the Battlefront Beta Test, which begins this Thursday (October 8th) and continues through Monday (October 12th). The Beta will be available on all Platforms (PC, PS4, and Xbox One). As you review the PC system requirements I strongly urge anyone who has concerns with if their computer can run the game to download and try the Beta. This will give you a good idea of your systems true capabilities.

Per EA Star Wars these specs are representative of the final release specifications. I copied them directly from the EA Website.

The Beta Test will include three modes of playing: Walker Assault (PVP), Drop Zone (PVP), and Survival (PVE). Later tonight I will be creating an option to submit gaming activity for each of them through our usual Gaming Portal. Screenshots of match results page will be required. The purpose of this is to gather information so we can accurately determine what Cluster awards should be for each mode at launch. Based on that rewards will be low for this Beta Weekend, only one Cluster for each match (keep reading though).

We will also be running a Battlefront Beta Weekend Competition. This competition will double Clusters and be judged based on most Clusters earned (no weighting of Clusters). Unlike Gorefest, the Cluster doubling will apply to all members who participate in it. So really... its 2 Clusters per match for the Beta Weekend, because Battlefront!

Some other Beta News to be aware of is that there will be a Base Command Companion App which can be tested during the Battlefront Beta as well. During the Beta it will only function on the PC though and will not be available in its Mobile App form.

Finally, EA Star Wars just launched their official Forums associated with the Battlefront game. Not going to be able to play the Beta this weekend, but still want to know everything about it? This is probably a good place to start.

As you get warmed up for this weekend you may find yourself looking for some tips... take a read on each of these:

I'll see you on the icy plains of Hoth putting blaster bolts into some Rebel Scum this weekend DJB! The Beta is finally here!

So excited!

Will pass on a little article our dearly departed Tarax passed onto me about the rather... beefy... recommended specs as presented by EA: http://www.pcgamer.com/dont-be-too-intimidated-by-battlefronts-recommended-specs/

Seems like the minimum are pretty close to true minimum, but the recommended is quite a lot more than needed to play the game at perfection, so there's definitely some middle ground.

PCMasterRace!

FYI - Gaming Portal is updated for submissions.
