Welcome to the November 2016 edition of the DJB’s Gaming Gazette. This month I want to highlight that Star Wars Battlefront's first three DLCs will be free to play during the weekend of November 17 through November 20 in honor of their anniversary. Overwatch will also be free to play this weekend. It lasts from November 18 at 11 AM PT to November 21 at 4 PM PT.
Tomorrow Star Wars Battlefront will release a physical copy of their Ultimate Edition. This was a digital offer only previously that I bought when the game was released, but it’s the perfect entry point for those who haven’t gotten the game yet. This bundle cost $120 at launch, but you can purchase this bundle now for $40. This includes the base game and the season pass which includes all content. This is confirmed pricing for PS4 and Xbox One, but I have not been able to confirm if PC players looking to join the Rebellion or Enlist in the Empire will receive this new discount.
Rogue One Scarif is the final expansion Star Wars Battlefront will be receiving. It will be available on December 6th for Season Pass owners to download and play. The new AT-ACT is rumored to be available for playable. Highlighted content from the expansion includes:
4 New Maps
Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic as playable heroes/villains
A new multi-stage game mode that uses both space and ground combat
Blizzard has released a brand new mode for Overwatch. It pits 3 players versus 3 players with no revives allowed. The Fist Staff has reviewed this new mode and officially launched support for it. You will earn 1 Cluster of Fire while playing this new elimination game mode with other DB members. It’s essential you select the correct Overwatch mode (3v3 or 6v6) when submitting your activity now. Below is a screenshot of what you’ll see when you start to submit your activities for approval.
Titanfall 2 is one of the high profile releases this year, but I didn’t hear as much buzz before release of the game as I have after it’s release. The original Titanfall had some good ideas, but turned a lot of people off to the series with the lack of a single player campaign. Respawn Entertainment has learned from their mistakes and listened to the gamers. It still is an FPS shooter so I only recommend this game to those who can enjoy them. Reviewers have given it about a 9/10 and so far I’ve found the campaign very fun. I snagged a Walmart Rollback deal on it for $29.96, but it’s returned to regular price. It is slated to go on sale for Black Friday so I’d suggest getting it then if you’re interested.
Call of Duty Infinite Warfare averages a score of 7.8/10
Skyrim Remastered averages a score of 8.0/10
Watch Dogs 2 averages a score of 8.3/10
Dishonored 2 averages a score of 9.0/10
Do you play games? Of course you play games. You like fun. We all like fun. No matter what level your skill is in a game though you have your highs and your lows. Show us your epic achievements and fails! For a while we have been running a competition that lasts 2-3 weeks for the top play and funniest fail. It doesn’t have to be a supported game to be a valid submission. Don’t forget to submit to these and check out all the competitions available here .
