Star Wars Battlefront: New Trailer & Information

SWBF

This morning/afternoon we saw the Star Wars Battlefront Panel at Celebration, and while it wasn't quite as enthralling as the Force Awakens panel, we did get to see the first new footage of the game since last year's E3. The footage, to say the least, was beautiful.

Star Wars Battlefront

That is all in engine footage (obviously tweaked in cinematic styling) to showcase the beauty of the game. The developers shared during the course of the panel the depths they went through to create the environments: actually going to the barren deserts of Death Valley, or the infamous Redwood forests of Endor to be able to live and breath the places we're going to be seeing in the game. The attention to detail is obvious, and from the looks of it we'll have at least a new visually stunning platform on our hands as of November 17th, 2015.

There was some other information that was released both in the preview granted to the press, as well as in the panel. These are the highlights that I took away from all that was said in the panel. Obviously this is only scratching the surface, but hopefully we'll have more information soon!

Gameplay notes

  • Will feature 20 vs. 20 Gameplay
  • First and Third person perspective
  • No Campaign Mode, has Missions (Can be played alone, online and locally)
  • Heroes Available: Vader and Boba Fett confirmed, no idea how they interact online.
  • Able to Fly: TIE Fighters, X-Wings, Millenium Falcon, but no dedicated space battles at launch
  • Planets confirmed: Sullust (new), Endor, Tatooine, Hoth
  • Free DLC of Jakku on the Week of the Force Awakens' release, ties into the "Battle of Jakku" which takes place a year after Endor. Pre-orders will get access to this a week early.
  • Deluxe edition will also ship with instant access to in-game items such as the infamous DL-44 Blaster, as well as some other weapons.
  • The is also apparently going to be an accompanying novel to Battlefront released before the game.

Just The Seal

squee

I can't wait to play many many hours of this.

I hope there's enough DBers playing this on XBone or PS4 because I don't think my PC will run this.

I'm excited

Ill definitely be playing on PS4

Ps4 if enough money xbone with those members

Xbone!! Aw Yea. Will compromise and get it for PC as well if I have to.

Will definitely pick it up for PC.

While nice to visualization, unfortunately first person shooter games aren't my cup of tea, so I won't be spending anything on it

this should be interesting. let's just hope this doesn't end up being too close to a rehash of the older entries- as is my big fear.

I just hope they add an online split screen option. No worries if not, would just be nice if they did

Im planning on getting it for PS4 and PC. One for me and one for the wife. :D

Yes.... I love it!

I am a little disappointed they don't have a full-on single-player campaign, but I'm fine with this either way. Will probably be getting it for Xbox One, possibly PC too.

pcmasterrace represent.

hear hear

not that I have a current gen console anymore, anyway. :P

PC PC PC... But 20 v 20 is not galactic scale battles lol. I blame consoles for this. Planetside 2 has galactic scale ground battles this is just piss in the wind. At least make it 32 v 32 ffs.

This will definitely be the first game I buy the Deluxe Edition of with any DLC offered. Xbox One for me!

Cool news about the novel, too

So update for Battlefront..... No space at launch.... No single player storylines.

so i missed the post above that said no SP. My bad. But the no space thing really sucks,

Well, it kinda sounds like BF2 for me. I just hope I'll be able to play it LAN mode with siblings though.

They said there will be off line coop

Well, I guess I'll never be able to play since I don't have any new gen. consols and my computer sucks. years of waiting gone to waste :P Oh well.
