SWTOR: Last Day to Pre-Order for Early Access & New Competition

By now the majority of you have heard about the upcoming second Expansion to Star Wars: The Old Republic, titled Shadow of Revan. This expansion is set to go live in just over a month for everyone, but there are a few advantages you can get for picking it up early. The biggest of these is early access to the game, but you have to Pre-Order by TODAY to get it.

Anyone who Pre-Orders automatically gets the Rise of the Hutt Cartel Expansion (if you don't already have it). Here's a full breakdown of the extras for SWTOR you can get when you pre-order:

Pre-Order by November 2nd for:

  • One week early access to Shadows of Revan (starts December 2nd)
  • Exclusive Grade Statue of Revan for your Stronghold

Pre-Order by December 1st for: * Exclusive Grade Statue of Revan for your Stronghold

All Subscribers who Pre-Order get: * 12X Experience gains through Class missions up through Level 55! * This experience bonus expires on December 1st

New SWTOR Competition

Anyone who plays SWTOR runs Daily missions on a pretty regular frequency. To capitalize on this we've created a new Competition, SWTOR: The Daily Grind. The goal of this competition is to complete as many Daily Missions as possible throughout November.

DJB GUILD MEMBERSHIP IS NOT REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE!!! YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE IN A GROUP EITHER

Submit completed Daily Missions through your Admin Panel, Submit Gaming Activity. Under PVE Matchmaking choose the "SWTOR Daily Comp" option. Make sure you select this competition on your submission! Screenshots showing the Mission Completion Window or readable message in the chat window are required for each Daily Mission. You may attach multiple screenshots and specify the quantity of Dailies completed for each submission.

Each completed Daily Mission will award 0.1 Clusters of Fire. This will be used to determine the individual who completed the most Daily Missions throughout the month.

Other Useful Expansion Notes

Lots of UI improvements are coming. As a former Madness Sorcerer I found managing DoTs to be frustrating while running Operations, it was impossible to tell my DoTs from the 3 other Sorcs in the group. With the expansion you'll be able to prioritize and highlight Buffs and DeBuffs applied by yourself on your targets. This is amazing. I love this. Sooo much.

They're also changing so that DoTs applied by players can no longer be cleansed off (in PVP). They can still be purged though. Remember Cleanse is what healers can cast on you, Purge is removing something on yourself. Again, much love.

For melee folks they've opened the line of site window from 180 degrees to 270 degrees. I assume this will make keeping someone in the area needed to perform attacks much easier in PVP. I'm not much for melee though personally. Sounds pretty awesome, maybe a Marauder can fully express if this brings them great joy or not in the comments portion of this post.

Commendations are all going to get updated again. Planetary and Classic Comms will cease to exist and become Basic Comms. At the launch of 3.0 Ultimate and Elite Comms that you have earned will transition to Basic Comms as well, although Ultimate and Elite Comms will continue to exist. You'll just have to earn more of them.

Last thing, Bioware has said they're looking at increasing the 22 character per server limit. Twenty two characters... is there people out there who actually have that many? I think I have seven. Crazyness, but if you love the leveling grind then this is a welcome change for you.

What should you expect to see over the next month as we get ready to go into this next expansion? Here's a few things that are on the books to go active:

  • DJB Race to 60 Competition
  • New Club Firsts for the new Raids (Story Mode)
  • Guild Bank Fund Drive Competitions (Its all about the Capital Ship)

Its a good time to be playing TOR again. See you in game, time to kill a Sith/Jedi/something something Revan guy.

When did they up the limit from 12 to 22? Or do you mean per account instead of per server?

You can purchase 10 more slots on the cartel market, so a subscriber with 12 base slots can purchase 10 more to go up to 22.

Ah, I thought the 10 more slots was to a maximum of 12... shows what you miss when you don't play the game for a year :P

Luckily, all the screenshots I took of the dailies I did today failed to save, so I'm off to a great start. But also, isn't today the last day to get the 12x xp boost as well? It's still active if you get it for the next month, but isn't today the last day that it's offered if you don't already have it? And also, for the commendations, would having all of the dailies on the the side showing "return to mission dropbox" be enough? Otherwise, it'll be a lot of screenshots to have one for each individual daily.. Or is there a better way of showing all the ones you've done at once?

Is it only for missions marked daily or will weeklies and other missions grouped with the dailies count as well?

12x XP stays until Shadow of Revan starts.

You can still get the 12x xp boost by pre-ordering before December 1st. The only thing you miss out on by not preordering today is the early access. (Details)

The 12x boost itself runs out at the end of December the 1st.

Completed Missions on the side of the screen in the quest tracker works.

Only Missions marked [Daily] are eligible.

Hi, I;m Slagar and I have an alting problem. I think I have 16 characters, and most all of them are 55 right now. However, the three or so stragglers will be getting to 55 by the end of of the 12x experience bonus. So, I could see people having 22... :)

Well 16 makes sense, one of each advanced class, there's little point in the remaining six slots.

Don't try your logic magic on me, Malik!

Found my authenticator and pre-ordered! Woo! Time to finish some class storylines!
