BT Pellaeon Report #2 | Fall out (from the Great Jedi War) [Updated!]

Pellaeon Report

Welcome to my 2nd report as Battle Team leader for House Imperium!

Well my dears, with the Great Jedi War at an end, it is time we turn our minds to what lies ahead in its aftermath. Calindra tosses out war banners and a box full of technocrat trinkets out the window, then wipes her hands clean of the dust and grime.

Ohh! And apparently, we have some new team members I wasn't aware of! A warm welcome to: Arron Saylos, Elad Cirith, Drake Thoros, and Janedo Korath, the latest additions to the team! Welcome to the battle team!!

Most of you might not have noticed, but Imperium recently adopted a policy where everyone is assigned to a battle team. There are many reasons for this:

  1. Administratively, someone is now taking care of you.
  2. It creates a focal point for you to raise concerns, without flooding the people at the top. If I can handle it for you, I'll do it, and if I need to kick it up the chain, I can do so!
  3. It also puts the focus back in working and playing with friend.

Now, I don't expect everyone who's been sorted into Pellaeon will stay in Pellaeon. 'Au contraire,' if you already have a group of friends that like to work together, play together and get along already; you should probably try to create your own battle team. In fact, I believe the Clan Summit is discussing such ideas right now, and it's something we'll be looking into in the very near future.

My advice, start thinking about what you want and who you want to do it with, and look at the announcements that are bound to happen some time in the new year.

That said, I also have to cater to the folks that aren't sure, haven't played with anyone for a while... which brings me to...

Team Fictions!!

Instead of having a great big discussion on what we will be doing fiction wise (we did that at the beginning of Raiju’s appointment as Aedile), my plan is to work with each team member that wishes to develop his or her character, and include a story arch in which we can all dive into, borrowing themes in each of your characters’ backgrounds for our storyline.

One team member in particular has a Slimy Hutt villain as an antagonist, and I think that would be a very nice place to start us off for a first battle team villain, so I've opened the discussion through emails with folks on the BT roster and some potential recruits this month.

More to come once the discussions have followed their course, but if you're interested, drop me a line and I'll plug you into the conversation.

Gaming Nights!! (Soon! ™)

As someone wisely brought up, you can't have a BT solely fixated on Fiction. That's why the clan summit has also been discussing implementing regular gaming nights!

Folks, I can't underline this enough: I am not a gamer, but I'm also not here for me, myself and my alt character. I'm here to help get you the gaming experience you want to enjoy. Be on the lookout for a form at some point in the near future that will solicit your opinion on what games, what platforms, and what nights / times are best for everyone, and we'll try to work something out.

That said: I AM NOT A GAMER... I cannot coordinate this part of the action, and so I will be looking for someone who will host said gaming night at regular intervals. Please message me if you're interested.

Competitions

I am happy to report December’s holiday competitions are up! Go enjoy some light cheer!

There are tons of competitions out there! Go have some fun and let us know which ones you enjoyed so that we can do them again! ;)

Because I'm a fiction nut, might I suggest:

  • Surviving Nancora - Run-on Team Exercise - I was slightly disappointed by our GJW Run-on team not being able to jump on, so I’d like to give it another chance at playing out. Everyone in CSP is welcome!
