Clan Odan-Urr Report #30

header

Odanites,

The results are in! Everything has been graded and awards have been given out. I would like to thank all of those who participated in this year’s GJW and a big thanks to all the people who spent long hours putting it all together. Next though comes the calm before the storm… something is brewing and all will be revealed to you soon… but before we get to that in next month’s report, whip up some cocoa and don your fuzzy socks because, without further adieu, I bring you the news...

Great Jedi War XVI: Transcendence Results

Here it is folk! All of your contributions landed us 805.23 points! We might have finished last, but it has been a year for us. Next year I’m sure will land us much better scores and many of you will take home some impressive prizes.

Participation-wise, the second round was our best round. We had 33% participation in Phase I, 37% in Phase II and the Event Long showed 14%. With that, we raked in a combined total of 101 Seals of Transcendence among the 13 participants. Nova-wise, we had 3 recipients with a combined 5 Bronze and 1 Silver.

Again, I would like to thank all of you who came out for this!

The Beginning of Something New

As you’ve seen in Gui’s News Post, he has created and staffed two new positions for us both with their own spin on activities within the Clan. I could drone on and on about what's to come, but I’ll let Gui explain it, in more detail.

Words From The Wise

My goal since becoming the Proconsul of Odan-Urr has been to create content, stir activity, and to tap into the community vibe that we've always cherished here.

Content has been coming in the form of Roleplays that ALL members of Odan-Urr are welcome to join. The story has started small and is leading into a much bigger Clan story arc that Revak and I agreed on upon my appointment. There will be one more Roleplay before I start working on Chapter 1 which will be a Clan event so I'm hoping you're looking forward to some action-packed stories.

The second form of content has been put into place with the appointment of two new Magistrates. They will be working with the Clan Summit on projects and general leadership. Their main focus is to create competitions and host weekly events so that there is a steady stream of activities for everyone to participate in. I'll let Dek and Doku speak for themselves but there are RP training nights, Recruitment Events, Gaming Nights, and RP (including the Tipsy Mynock being utilized) in the works - I'm hyped and eager to see what these guys plan on bringing to the table!

I would also like to say thank you to everyone who participated in the GJW. I hope everyone had fun. Next year we'll be bringing the heat!

Excellent and exciting stuff for sure. I would like to congratulate Enzo Dek and Doku Rivendare on their new appointments and thank everyone who applied.

Their first assignment as our newest Summit members… intros!

Both Magistrates are chomping at the bit to get going and make their plans unfold, but I will leave it up to them to do the explaining…

First up, Enzo Dek has prepared this for you all.

And now Doku Rivendare…

I have a couple of ideas and a general flow of how I'd like to see things go.

Initially I'd like to run an RP event every couple of weeks. This will allow character development for larger scale events such as vendettas and such as well as develop a working narrative for the clan. 2-3 week time spans are in theory enough time to generate an "adventure" from start to finish while giving me enough time to assess flow and engagement. As Gui has told me a lot of your RPers are new which presents a great opportunity to grow.

Along with this I'd like to do "character build sessions" either once or twice a month. These could be specific in nature or general class sessions. I've always enjoyed building characters in DnD and watching them fight in combat is always rewarding. These training events could also go over general principles or mechanics were looking to incorporate or answer collectively as a group. Gives people a chance to brush up on old theories and have burning questions they need answered.

As much of the DJB seems to do in other clans, social RP will be something that we could run all the time. Take advantage of the Tipsy Tusken and its general space for character engagement and reflection. Social RP is a huge character builder as individuals will find characters they work with within their own space.

Great stuff, looking forward to seeing everything that the two of you accomplish!

Kissing up to the ones in fancy pants

I would like to thank Evant for his many years of service as our Grand Master (he’s provided us with so many stabby things), and would also like to congratulate and highlight a few upper-level changes made since Evant has stepped down. First of which, Bubba has ascended to Grand Master. This left a vacant Deputy Grand Master spot, of which Atra has filled in. You can read about this in Bubba’s first Grand Master Report.

This left the position of Justicar vacant. Kamjin has been nominated and elected to hold.

Not only that but our favorite teddy bear, Howie has been granted Elder 4, a position often held for Grand Masters, and who is only the second to hold the rank having not been GM. The first was the grand tech wizard James.

Congratulations to all of you!
