Is there a word feeling like a time period has simultaneously flown by while still going really slow? Maybe a German word with a bunch of umlauts? That's how I feel about this past month.

Fading Light

Did you know that an event had been going on this past month? It's true! It's pretty much the most important thing that's happened in the DJB this past month. I'm going to spend the bulk of my report breaking it down because there's a lot there. Short version, we managed 3rd place overall, but I don't blame you if it doesn't feel that way.

The Silver Lining

I'm not going to sugar-coat it. You wouldn't believe me if I did. Plagueis didn't do very well in FL3. We didn't win a single Nova, and Clan participation was generally average among Brotherhood units. We managed to pull out 3rd Place overall by riding our success in the Fading Light: Runon event earlier this year. Rather than focusing on the negative, however, there's a lot to be proud of, and I personally learned a lot through the entire event.

Exemplars of Plagueis

While overall participation wasn't stellar, some individual members were. 5 members participated in all 5 events. Kz'set, Selika Roh, Brimstone, Misium, and....

Sith Warrior Taranae Rhode.

I'm not going to labor the point here too much. Go check out the recommendation. She's awesome. Additionally, Taranae, Teylas, and Brimstone were awarded Seals of Loyalty in commemoration of the Day of the Fox. This is basically token recognition that members like these have made significant long-term investment in the Brotherhood.

Lessons Learned

This was my first Vendetta as Consul. It was also our first event as a Clan recently. I learned a lot, and I'm pretty sure the rest of the Summit did as well. We have some time before the GJW to tune things. I've already begun having extensive discussions with the rest of Plagueis leadership with regards to ways to improve our overall performance. The most important thing will be not to lose momentum between now and then.

The Road Forward

What happens now, you ask? The next major event is obviously the GJW, scheduled for early January. Between now and then, stay posted. We're going to have something smaller and fun to pass the time. Look to Teylas for more details...

Openings

Now that the event has died down, Arden and I are actively searching for an Aedile for House Karness Murr. For the position, first and foremost, we are looking for energy. Previous leadership is not required, but never hurts. Please send applications to me, Arden, and Callus by November 23.

A Consul's Life

A lot of stuff has gone on in my personal life lately. This past week, I moved to a new city and started a new job. As with all major life changes, it's going to take me a little while to adjust to the schedule and life in a weird place. Hopefully you all will be able to bear with me for the next few weeks and I don't seem too far aloof.
