Clan Plagueis Rollmaster Report #6: Summertime!

header

Message from the Overseer

Happy July everyone! Welcome to my sixth report as Rollmaster of Clan Plagueis. It’s been a busy summer, and we aren’t stopping the train anytime soon. You’ve crushed Jedi in a feud, you’ve blown participation out of the water in the Pro-Bowl, and you’re about to jump right into our next event, which will be announced by either Slags or Teylas very soon(™).

The statistics for the Pro-Bowl were staggering, but I think we’ve touched on those enough. What is truly impressive is the number of awards and promotions that went through after the conclusion of the event. Laren, Kelly, Silent, Abadeer, Va’nia (aka Zombie Callus), Arden, Brim, Ra’gnar, Tharess, Tra’an, Alishu, Doku, Malice, Vanessa, Bubba, and Kul all earned a merit award for their efforts in the Pro-Bowl and actions in support of Clan Plagueis. Arden, Eiko, Misium, and Bal Demona moved up in the Equite ranks. In short, you all did amazing things, and rewarding you for them was easy. Congratulations to all the awardees and newly promoted members of Clan Plagueis!

This is a short report, because a) I’m insanely busy at work and b) I covered all the cool stuff up front!

Let’s get to it!

Welcome to Plagueis!

As always, I want to take this time to welcome some of our new members to the Clan. One of the best parts about being Rollmaster is I’m one of the first people to welcome our new members, but it’s imperative that you all do your part in bringing them into the fold.

New Members:

Rexus - Assigned to the Apostles of Syn, House Karness Muur

Sceledrus Sunstrider - Assigned to the Disciples of Dreypa, House Ajunta Pall. He might be related to a certain Clan Rollmaster….

Returning Members:

Welcome back Dasmen Tore aka Ronovi!

From The BTL Desks

Two months with the same BTLs makes Uncle Drac a happy Rollmaster. Kul’tak Drol and Abadeer Taasii are doing an outstanding job of shepherding our new members towards the rank of JM4. The role of a BTL is difficult and takes a great deal of time and energy, and these two men have really stepped it up over the past couple months. More on my thoughts on BTLs later.

Abadeer and Kul both asked if they could drop some fiction on you all for this report, and I happily obliged, mostly because it meant I didn’t have to write one of my crappy fictions this month!

So, take it away Abadeer and Kul!

The tall imposing figure of Abadeer Taasii stood in stark contrast of the setting of the sun. Abadeer glared down the hill he’d chosen as his perch. Below him his group of trainees were collecting their equipment and moving it to the inside of their temporary housing. A shuttle transport flew low coming straight for his position.

Taasii continued to watch the shuttle as it made it’s way to his position. He’d received the call from Commander Laren, and could sense that this was indeed him aboard the shuttle. As the shuttle landed, one bay door opened and the wiry Pantoran dropped out of the ship, landing gracefully. The shuttle took off and continued on as Laren Uscot proceeded towards the stationary Togruta.

Abadeer gave a short bow to his leader, a man he did not entirely trust but did not fully dislike either.

“Good to see your men working hard, Commander Abadeer.” Laren started, but Abadeer could sense something below the surface of his words. Some contempt maybe? “I just wish we could get you to work as hard as well.” Abadeer raised an eyebrow, and clenched his fist trying to contain his frustration.

“I’m not sure what you’re referring to.. sir.”

“I’m getting chewed out by Lord Rhode, I need results and I need them now. Where are we in the process of being ready to move your team in?” Laren glared directly into the dark eyes of the Sith.

“The final forms have been submitted to your office, wherever that might be. I have people standing around waiting for the order to go. Just tell me when.” Abadeer’s tone was curt, he did not enjoy having his methods and actions questioned, especially when he’d done all required of him.

“Very good. Then all that remains is the rest of the House. I’m not cut out for this kind of grunt work.” Laren let out a sigh, rubbing his eyes. “Come walk with me Commander. I have an interesting thing for you to read.” The Pantoran pulled a small data pad out of a pouch on his hip and handed it to Abadeer. Taasii skimmed the message quickly.

“What am I supposed to make of this?” Abadeer asked, truly confused. Laren laughed as he took back the data pad.

“I need someone I can trust, or at least someone I can trust to follow orders. Come on, let’s walk. We have much to discuss.”

Report

I want to start out my little part of this report with a congratulations to all of you. You guys have worked really hard on the Pro-Bowl, and my expectations were blown out of the water. Everyone really impressed me, with the work and effort put in. Thanks for making it a great month. I’m excited for things to come, the summit has some really fun things brewing for our next event. Enjoy your days off, and we hope to see you guys work just as hard, if not harder for the coming things.

For those of you into gaming, we got to see the Beta for the Telegram Fist Bot, and from early reports it seemed to function pretty well. Keep an eye out for more news on that, PvP matchmaking should get easier, and much more convenient very soon.

Also a big welcome to our newest member, Rexus! Hope to see you do great things.

Plains of Aliso

Aliso, 34 ABY

One Hour Prior to “Manifest Destiny”

Thin, heavy boots crunched the loose sediment beneath as the Zabrak paced his way down the line before him. His team had assembled on a mission called for by the Dread Lord himself, and Kul’tak would accept nothing less than complete success in their mission. However simple it may seem. Each stared ahead with attentive eyes, attempting to stand as still as possible lest they earn the ire of their often ill-tempered leader.

The acolytes (and one Knight) assigned to him had proven useful at best initially, but with a strong prodding he found they could move to accomplish even a difficult task such as hunting Jedi. A few inparticular had shown their worth during the assault on Odan-Urr, and Kul secretly prided in this. A strong battleteam was created by its members. An obvious statement, but one that the members themselves often overlooked. There was strength in unity. It is what had allowed Plagueis to survive some of its most harrowing events.

The Zabrak paused as he reached the end of their lineup and turned sharply on a swivel, his cloak snapping in the cool breeze.. The line remained in discipline as he waited longer than usual to call orders. He watched for roaming eyes and twitching noses, but his team held firm. A grin stole across his tattooed face. Rhode, Ral, Xinthani, Tamarin, Dragos, Rao’rorik, Kashyo, and even the Overseer’s newly arrived brother. He would see what kind of team they could become.

I hope everyone’s enjoying their lull until the next big Plagueis event takes place (soon™), but if you’re looking for some jolly things to do look no further than the Clan’s new RO. Titled “Manifest Destiny,” Plagueis is now solidifying its grasp on the planet Aliso and drawing up plans for the headquarters. The Inquisitorious, however, have taken a keen interest in the goings and comings around Aliso, so watch out to see how that affects the coming days. But if fiction isn’t on the brain there’s also a slough of comps currently to be done. By all means, do!

Shinies below!

Ask The Overseer

It’s that time again. Not a lot of questions this month, and that’s OK. It means I’ll actually try to answer all the silly ones.

Silent Asks:

Q: What would you do for a Klondike Bar?

A: A Klondike bar has about 170 calories per bar. It takes 190 burpees for someone to burn one of those off. So i would do 190 Burpees for a Klondike Bar. #fitnessislife

Laren Asks:

Q: Would Drac prefer to sleep at his desk on land, or in space?

A: Drac can sleep anywhere. But he just might pull a George Costanza…

Q: Why are Battle Team Leaders so important?

A: I see the Battle Team Leader position as serving two purposes. Primarily, these two gentlemen are responsible for guiding our newer members to the rank of Knight or whatever the other JM4 ranks are called. They are an additional set of eyes and ears for me to maintain contact with our journeymen, and they keep me updated with any issues or concerns those members have. The second purpose is to provide an entry-level leadership development opportunity for members of this club. Leading in an online club is fundamentally different than leading in business, the military, a sports team, etc. The BTLs have the unique opportunity to create events and activities for their teams to help those members earn promotion credit, independent of the Clan or House Summit, recommend awards and promotions, and provide a welcoming environment for the newer members. It gives them a taste of what leadership is like at the upper levels, brings them into the fold of the Clan Summit, and gives them a voice in Clan-wide planning and activities. It’s a great stepping stone to higher level positions and gives the Clan leadership the opportunity to assess their potential for increased responsibility.

Arden Karn di Plagia asks:

Q: If you could enslave any Pokemon, which one would it be?

A: How I feel about Pokemon:
