Clan Vizsla Report 1.5

Introduction
Blows dust off the machine
This report is long overdue.
I thank you all for your patience while you awaited this report. While I’d like to jest that I’m sure every one of you was on the edge of your seats waiting for this, I feel like I need to fully own the breakdown in communication here. The clan announcement channel is great to be able to keep you all informed in a timely manner, but there are some things that it shouldn’t be used for and the substance of this report is that. So I’m sorry for the delay.
Thankfully, I’ve got a great team (more on that in a moment) who has helped me with getting us back on track and you will be seeing some major changes over the next two months to reflect the work we’ve been doing behind the scenes. In the meantime, let me start with catching us up from my last report.
As I’ve gathered sections for this report, it frankly is now too long for what should be an easily digestible report. I’ve therefore broken it up into two reports, one out today and the other will be released next Friday. This report covers the conclusion to Quest For Fire, some Clan Restructuring, and the Ad Vizsla race. Next week, I’ll address what happened with the GJW, both fictionally and not, while also sharing our clan awards, and our path forward to the next Great Hunt.
Let’s dive in…

Quest For Fire
As you may remember, prior to the GJW, we launched an event titled, Quest For Fire. This was initially planned as a minor event to decentralize some of our clan lore. Specifically, we wanted to launch the concept of Quaestors leading development on their base of operations to serve the community at large.
Unfortunately, I made the poor choice to run the event straight into the start of the GJW…
This delayed the ending and integration of the winners into the story as our focus pivoted to the start, running, and then conclusion of the GJW. While the event was judged promptly, the fictional awards had been delayed so I apologize for the oversight on this and the delayed recognition you all deserved. But let me make that right now:
The Winning Pledges
As you may remember, Vizsla adopted the pledge system for this event and gave the membership the option of supporting the efforts to find the forge with their own pledges. Or as I explained then:
The result of this event will provide Vizsla with the fictional background of how it obtained new clan possessions and which Quaestor is responsible for maintaining the lore surrounding it.
With a decisive win (18-3), House Wren scored the most points thereby giving their Quaestor the rights to add the forge to their base of operations. Congrats and excellent work all around.

Conclusion & Epilogue
Ruhnuk
44 ABY
Buurenaar Settlement
The storms had not stopped.
If anything, Ruhnuk seemed determined to make the final hours of Clan Vizsla's search as miserable as possible.
Across the planet, three teams had spent days combing through ruins, deciphering ancient warnings, fighting scavengers, and chasing rumors that grew more complicated with every new discovery. The forge had to be here. Everything they had uncovered pointed toward it.
But Ruhnuk had no intention of giving it up easily.
The transport screamed through the storm clouds. Lightning flashed around the vessel as Kindle leaned forward in his seat, watching the settlement slowly emerge through the sheets of rain. The tactical display painted the structures below in ghostly outlines, their positions intermittently obscured whenever another bolt tore across the sky. Circling the settlement, Vizsla’s most eager pressed themselves upon the transport’s windows.
“There's movement,” called out one of Vizsla’s newest warriors. The Firrerreo/Nagai hybrid had the build of a dancer and drew more than their fair share of attention due to their heterochromatic eyes. Yeyu continued, “Multiple contacts!”

TL;DR
Update 9 – Quest For Fire Conclusion & Epilogue
- Clan Vizsla's search for the Forge of Tarre Vizsla: After days of searching Ruhnuk's ruins, three teams continue investigating ancient warnings, the Ruus, and rumors surrounding the legendary forge.
- Buurenaar Settlement: Kindle and his team assault and secure a Ruus-occupied settlement, discovering widespread slaughter and evidence that the Ruus stripped the village of all metal. Despite an exhaustive search, they find no forge.
- Tracyn Settlement: Kora discovers a journal detailing how the Ruus poisoned the settlement's water supply, forcing survivors to flee. The journal contains coordinates and a cryptic reference to "the place beneath the stone," potentially leading to the forge.
- The hidden entrance: The coordinates lead Siorc's team behind the Ruus settlement, where they decipher a puzzle that reveals a concealed cavern entrance.
- Discovery of the forge: The team navigates deep into the mountain, discovering the ancient Forge of Tarre Vizsla and its Scrap Armourer, who leads the Ruus followers.
- Battle for the forge: Vizsla forces launch a surprise attack, defeating the Ruus and killing the Scrap Armourer. Malodin’Tater confirms they have secured the forge.
- The forge's removal: Clan Vizsla carefully dismantles and transports the ancient machinery, cataloguing each component for future use.
- Uncertainty about the Codex: Lontra and Kindle discuss whether the forge can unlock the Codex. While its functionality is proven, its ability to unlock the Codex remains unconfirmed.
- A new military contract: Vizsla is assigned a major engagement by the Brotherhood, forcing the clan to leave Ruhnuk before testing the forge's full capabilities.
- Clan Bralor arrives: A heavily armed fleet led by Harald Redhand arrives, claiming to have been hired to assist Vizsla. The mysterious employer is described as a black-and-gold-armored figure with twin pistols bearing blackhearts, suggesting a familiar and influential ally.
More to come next week with our GJW update…

Clan Restructuring
A little over a month ago, some changes happened to our roster and at least one of you has wondered what’s going on there…I’m glad you asked.
As you may remember, Taurus unfortunately stepped down back in July and I ran a call for applications to replace him. Incredibly, I was met with 8 different applications - all internally.
In my entire DJB career, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many applications for one spot - not to mention, for a role as Quaestor. I was delighted by the news and immediately went to work scheming on how we could use this opportunity to grow Vizsla for the better. After some consideration, a proposal was made to the higher ups asking for a third house to be created for the clan…I was told no. Fine :P
But then we discussed how junior roles/units in the Brotherhood could be best used, in a conversation similar to one our lovely GM facilitated in the fiction channel a week or so ago. I’m delighted to say we worked out a vision for Vizsla, tailored to reflect our unique view on subunits.
As such, we’ve added 4 Battleteams to our roster. 2 for each House and appointed Battleteam Leaders for all. As outlined below, these units will function similarly to our Houses/their Quaestors while offering a junior role for others to learn through.
Updated Policy
The following is the updated Vizsla policy on sub-units:
After careful consideration following discussions with the membership, it has been decided that all clan competitions, lore, and culture will be maintained at the clan level. The membership has made it clear that they wish to avoid a “silo’ed” experience and want connected stories. Therefore the role of the houses, and their Battleteams, differ in Clan Vizsla in comparison to the rest of the Brotherhood.
In Vizsla, houses and their battleteams, operate as a purely administrative tool for the membership rosters. Upon transfer into the clan, members may select a house to join or otherwise be assigned to based on the lowest population. The exception to this is that new joins will be directed based on the method of entry:
- Direct recruits will be housed with their Sponsor (Master)
- Random joins will be assigned to the house with the lowest population
The house membership roll is to be maintained by a Quaestor who will review their membership monthly for promotions & awards while also providing encouragement and communication on competitions & activities available for the membership.
Quaestors will also serve a fictional role in the clan lore, but this will be to serve the clan narrative. Due to the Clan’s successful growth, it has warranted the establishment of Battleteams Leaders to learn from the Quaestor in a more junior role. Like the Houses, Battleteams will be purely administrative for award and promotion sweeps; allowing Battleteam Leaders a chance to learn under the guidance of their Quaestor.
To provide an opportunity to develop lore and promote engagement with the community, Quaestors and Battleteam leaders will also be assigned Vizsla Points of Interest to develop, maintain documentation, and encourage engagement by running competitions in the Black Ledger container competition.
Unit Appointments
With these new units, we’ve made the following appointments:
- As before, Hector Von Ricmore maintains the helm of House Deathwatch, taking on developing the point of interest: The Anvil on Daemunn. The focus of this POI will be to cater to hardline Mandalorian history and culture while overseeing the development of similar POIs through the reporting BTs.
- As most are aware now, Korvyn has taken the mantle of House Wren and taken off running. He will be taking on developing a new base of operations in the outer orbit of the Zsoldos System, the focus of which will be upon giving our mercenary/unique mandos a proper home while overseeing the development of similar POIs through the reporting BTs.
- Bringing back a familiar name, Haro Zylrun will be establishing a new base of operations for Battleteam Saxon - a theme chosen to reflect our Mando history
- While operating out of Ebon Ridge the talented Kora will develop the criminal/underworld POI
- Meanwhile, Farrin Xies Tarentae will champion our more rebellious mercs/mandos in a new POI on Asclops
- While the best boy, Yeyu, will develop a POI for our force-sensitive mercs/mandos on Endura
Roster Movement
To reiterate, the above positions are being appointed to provide these Points of Interests for the entire Vizsla community. Folks can interact with as many, or as few, POIs as they wish. Competitions reflecting these units will always be held at the clan level so folks can participate regardless of what roster they are actually assigned.
We will be dividing the clan up between the Battleteams to assist with the administrative duties that come with managing a clan this large. We will attempt to equalize the membership between BTs so that each BTL is getting the same opportunity to learn the administrative functions as a junior member of the summit.
However, if you have interest in a specific battleteam that you would like your name to sit under, we’ve created a survey to assist with the roster movement. Folks have until Sept 30th to make their selection, after which we will begin equalizing remaining folks between the BTs. You can make your BT selection here

Ad Vizsla Update
I'm delighted to say that a lot of you are getting close to the Clan Title!
As a reminder, the only way to get the title is by earning 2 million credits for the clan. There is no vote. It’s not a cool kids’ club (even though having the title is cool). It’s not a popularity contest. Earn credits, earn the title. That’s it.
There are plenty of ways to do that, and you can find them here.
Should you want to know your exact credit amount, you can see this on your dossier's activity assessment tab. Let Raiju know if you need help finding this.
One thing to remember: If you leave for another clan, your clan credits reset to zero! So like...don't do that.
Important Note: Starting next month, Azler will be producing his own reports focusing on activities and opportunities. As part of this, the Ad Vizsla tracker will become a regular part of his reports so watch for it next month!

In Closing
With that, I’m gonna cut the report here. Once again, I will be releasing another report next Friday to catch up on outstanding topics that you should all be aware of. Should you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding the material above, please DM or @ me in our channels.
