The military base on Daemunn hummed with activity as returning troops and reinforcements flooded in from various installations across Vizsla territories. News of Consul Korvis's heroic sacrifice, saving countless lives, had already spread among the Vizslan ranks.

A true Mandalorian to the end.

Amongst those returning, a multitude of clan members, Mandalorians, Mercenaries, and the remaining ilk of Vizsla gathered in the grassy fields outside the base. Some descended with jetpacks from the mountain enclaves and individual Mandalorian settlements on Zsoldos’ moon, while others arrived from the city proper for this unplanned assembly.

They encircled the remaining summit members. The former Proconsul Erinos had been selected as the interim Consul, tasked with proving herself within Vizsla with the responsibility of avenging the previous Consul. Alongside her stood another newcomer, Ikarri, who had been appointed as her second in command for the interim period. To her left was the imposing figure of Hector Von Ricmore. Assembled just a step below the summit were many of the founders, Declan Roark, Zoron Ad Vizsla, Valhavoc, the returned Ghost Rulvak Qurroc, the up-and-coming Haro and Sinya, and even a few fresh faces such as the newly arrived Kodo and Vynn Salm.

The assembly waited in silence for the new Consul to address them.

Socorra’s helmet hid her eyes as she stared into the middle distance, listening to a private recording. Whatever words Korvis had left for his successor were for her ears alone. The silence grew to the point of deafening as the less disciplined among the crowd began murmuring and questioning what was to take place.

A second audio finished and the Sith finally turned to them all. “Getting into character, or some osik,” she quietly murmured at the stares of her Clan. The thought was still unnerving to her; her Clan, would take a lot of getting used to.

Ikarri leaned close enough that he wouldn’t be overheard except by his new Consul. “You’re up; they are getting anxious.” Soccora could feel him reaching out through the Force, quieting the worst of the rising fears and nerves among the crowd. Her decision to elevate the Magistrate had been unusual, but she had seen his work and knew she could focus on the task ahead with him providing support.

Finally, she stepped forward, removing her helmet and shook her head, long white-streaked raven hair spilling down in elaborate braids. She looked to the families gathered with one kohl-rimmed arctic eye and an unblinking, judgmental cybernetic one.

Socorra raised her dark-skinned fist, silencing the murmurs as she addressed them with her voice rising over the crowd. The hovering droid interpreters broadcasted and signed the informal speech in several languages to the many gathered; it was almost necessary with the woman’s deep accent.

“We honor Korvis and what he sacrifice for Vizsla. We offer our oath that his killers be found and favor returned upon any who would cross us.”

At her rising pitch, the Socorran tailring Nhar’quis swooped down from the sky and protectively perched upon his master’s armored shoulder with a hiss, stretching out his black and scaly draconian form.

“...they no realize what they done. That the death of our own only bind and strengthen us with new purpose! That we will hunt them down, and Retribution will be paid!”

Introduction

Korvis has retired in an awesome and enviable blaze of fire. I would say we will miss him, but he’s shackled and won’t be going very far. If you see someone named “Vynn Salm,” that would be his new character, and I have it on really good authority that he is getting a super hawt lightsaber for his new character.

All in the same week of receiving the new CON post was also my birthday and a sudden death in the family, so this report is much later than I anticipated. I want to thank everyone for their patience and kindness as I navigated through and get caught up. For those that haven’t read yet and wondering what am I talking about, I am still in denial your new Consul, and Donny is your new Pecan. Quick trivia: Korvis, Donny, and I were all in the same small battleteam a decade ago but somehow neither of us was at the same time or even met one another. Neat.

Between his application and mine, we have some good stuff in store for the clan. As I am big on collaboration for the best results, we have a general direction but will be working with everyone to refine it (as evidenced in warchat discussions).

As Donny and I are newer, I thought it prudent to finally introduce ourselves since we kinda hadn’t when we came aboard a few months ago; actions, not words.

Most members call me Socks. I live in Detroit with my husband and our two teenage boys. I am a Veteran, UX professional, EMT, business owner, and artist. I joined the DB 12 years ago and have been in every summit role except RM. I served as T:F and multiple Praetor roles and Herald on the DC. Currently P:GM where I float from project to comic and M:Beard (I have made this a thing now). I live for teamwork, RP and all things art. I am a still-rehabbing WoW hardcore raiding addict and currently play BG3 when I should be sleeping.

Evening, folks,

I joined Vizsla a few months ago when I was offered the role by Korvis during the Proconsul applications. I have been known by a few different names throughout my history - S’nar, Uji, Donny, The Log - whatever you prefer. I have genuinely enjoyed my time in Vizsla so far, and it has caused a resurgence of activity.

I'm glad to see some members filtering back into the fold as well. I'm happy to see Vizsla at the top of cluster earners each day. That being said, we will be hosting significantly more competitions within Vizsla, so keep an eye out and participate where you can. We need more folks holding that Clan Title.
