Crucesignatis Imperialis: Priming for Battle

header

Introduction

Welcome to my bi-monthly report. Firstly, I'd like to apologize for my lack of activity on Telegram. I moved out of my apartment and I had to leave my job recently (contract ended). So I'm currently in a friend's apartment, and occasionally meeting members of my community to day drink and say goodbye. I'm also looking for a new cellphone plan to hold me over for one month in order to have internet that benefits me when I'm not close to a computer (and thus, emails, TG, and other such things become more available).

I haven't forgotten about any of you and I think about this BT and its members every single day.

We decided on some titles as well for the Battleteam. The Battleteam Leader will have the title of Overseer. He "oversees" the workings of Crucesignatis Imperialis. He reports on judicial and propaganda activities to the Imperator, and hands out the Writ of the Emperor to members of the BT (basically, a declaration to be will, judge, jury, and executioner for the Emperor through any means necessary).

The winner of Wildfire Revolution was Kor Vaal. His second in command title will be Vexillarius. In Roman Legions, the Vexillarius was the flag bearer of sorts for a legion or detachment of troops. In Crucesignatis Imperialis, it is a title given to the second in command and is rewarded at the time of a major event. It could change when other major events come up, and it must be defended by the title holder during those times.

So three new terms for out Battleteam come out of this: Overseer, Vexillarius, and Writ of the Emperor. We're still deciding a lot of things in the wiki group. Please let me know if you want to be a part of the conversation, and I'll send you the link. One might ask, why Overseer and not a Latin name? It was meant to be easily spoken and identifiable by the members and members outside the group. There was some criticism of the Latin-usage, and this is meant to show those members that we listen to them and occasionally see with and agree with their points.

Onto victory!

News

P:VOICE is open for applications. The Fist has decided to stop Galaxy of Heroes from being a game because the potential to cheat is way too high. Heroes of the Storm is moving onto a next step in gaming within our club.

Competitions

James Malum has obtained first place in the Trench Run competition. A new flash competition is here to keep you occupied on some smaller rewards:

Hexed and Perplexed - Flash - Place hex blocks onto a large hex to get points

Turnabout Protagonist - Fiction - Fiction where bad guys are good and good guys are bad

Existential Crisis Simulator

So first you may have expected this after one week of my last report, and after not seeing it you may have expected it this time. I've instead decided to make an entirely new document on all of it and to release it all at the same time. Why you might ask? Because I have ever changing ideas on how it should be represented, and I believe past ones should include that. If you want direct character advice, I can still help you and will help you. However, I will be releasing the document at a later date. If any of you want to help me with this, let me know. I could use any help that you can deliver.

Member Interview

This week's member interview comes from Reiden Karr, who is celebrating his ninth year in the DJB this month:

1) What is your favo(u)rite color?

Red or green.

2) Would you rather fight four Elincia-sized beakers filled with skin melting acid or one Elincia sized beaker?

One Elincia sized beaker.

3) What are your goals and objectives within the DJB?

To continue to stay active and to help out CSP and its members however I can.

4) What is your most memorable competition that you participated in?

Probably CDW: The Star. It was the first fiction comp I had really done and felt proud of when it was finished. It was also my first real attempt at writing a combat scene. It was a lot of fun writing that entry.

5) If you could trap an entire Clan into Otoh Gunga for one whole year, which Clan would it be, and why would you subject them to such tortures?

I think it would be Arcona. I'd like to see if Atty could put up with the Gungans, and also see if they would be able to handle her. (Wasn't really sure for this, so I went with the first crazy thing that came to mind.)

6) Where do you see yourself IC and OOC in the DJB in 3 years?

Not sure, but hopefully still active and having fun.

7) If you could have one game played by every single Brotherhood member currently, what game would it be and why?

Can't really answer since I don't play games anymore.

8) If you could make one item in the possessions system only buyable by you, what item would it be and why?

There are a few items that I like/want, but I don't think I like any of them to that extent.

9) What advice would you give new members in the House/Clan/DJB?

Don't stress out too much about doing a bunch of things. Do what you can/want, when you want and at your own pace. Most importantly, just have fun. We're all here to have fun and hang out with like-minded individuals that also enjoy Star Wars.

10) What is your most memorable moment in Clan Scholae Palatinae through your long history in the Clan?

After being here 9 years now, there are just so many options to choose from as being memorable. If I were to be somewhat selfish about it, probably when I was promoted to Equite 1. For the longest time I was convinced that I'd never make it past Knight. It just goes to show that even if it takes many years (as was the case for me), anyone can do something if they set their mind and keep working at it, no matter how long it may take.

Conclusion

Some things are slowing down, some things are speeding up towards the GJW. Whatever your mentality, I hope you all are preparing for the GJW. It's a time where we can win big rewards fictionally and in reality for our Clan and for ourselves. It will be my first GJW since I've returned back in 2015, and for many of you it may be either your first in awhile or first ever. It's truly an amazing set of events. Many old members return from their graves to participant and help their Clan to win.

But it requires every one of us to participate. Don't feel pressured to win simply for the Crescent or Novae. But know that every reward you get benefits all of your friends and allies in your Clan. In these events, Excidium and Imperium (and BT Acclivis Draco) will unite under a single banner once again and fight in a battle of domination for the title of First Clan of the Brotherhood.

For the Glory of the Empire!
