Kamjin strolled through the collection of artifacts arranged along the laboratory table. From swords, holocrons, opals and more were resting on velvet stands. The clan members who had found them hung back while the Proconsul gingerly picked up the occasional holocron to inspect it further.

"An amazing find to all of you. Thran, Archangel, Rayne, Raleien, Dek, Xantros, and Cello, you have each removed a potential weapon from the hands of our enemies and strengthened our might at the same time," Kamjin said, while grasping a purple-hued holocron.

"We need to catalogue and study these artifact. Little is known of them except for their name and for some that does little to clarify its usefulness," he continued. Rayne snickered and ducked behind her fellow clansmen. Kamjin caught on to her meaning quickly.

"Rayne, I believe you said this was some sort of disrobing holocron?" Kamjin asked, tilting the holocron slightly as it glowed with unknown powers.

"That's correct. Though that was more legend than something I witnessed first hand," Rayne offered by way of response. Kamjin starred at the holocron and was immediately relieved that he was wearing his gloves and not touching it barehanded.

"Perhaps," he paused. "Perhaps some of these should just be locked away and left unexplored for now."

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, the one and only ProBowl V is here! I couldn't say it better than Selika Roh, Plagueis's Consul...so I won't. What follows is taken from her report.

Welcome back to the fifth Plagueis hosted Pro Bowl, this year featuring Clans Scholae Palatinae, Vizsla, and Naga Sadow! The 2021 Pro Bowl will pit two teams, the Frog-dogs and Rotworms (titans of the Huttball court) led by leaders from each clan and made up of equal parts of each clan's roster. The Pro Bowl will be hosted by the four sitting Consuls of each of the participating clans. The team captains will be a mix of the summit and senior members of all four clans, as such:

Pro Bowl V is a three-week, multi-event competition designed to test each and every member of the Clans. An opening event will determine which order the teams will have in a Draft-style event led by the Pro Bowl organizers. The teams will alternate their selections until the entire roster of all four clans are split between them. Once the roster is set, the two teams will battle it out in a series of twenty-four events spread over the course of three weeks. Events will include the standard fare of Fiction, Graphics, Gaming, and Trivia, along with some less common events designed to help test each member of the Clans.

Schedule:

• Play-in Event: Sept. 20th - Sept. 26th
  
• Week One: Sept. 27th - Oct. 3rd
  
• Week Two: Oct. 4th - Oct. 10th
  
• Week Three: Oct. 11th - Oct. 17th
  

Upon completion of the final scoring, the team with the highest cumulative score will be declared the winner!

Scoring:

Each individual will earn five points per event they participate in. Participation is defined as a valid submission for an event. Simply signing up for an event or uploading an unqualified submission will not count. You have to put in the effort in order to receive the reward. Participation will earn 5 points.

In addition to participation points, the top three individuals in each competition will earn placement modifier points. First place will earn 4 points, second place will earn 3 points, and third place will earn 2 points, and all other entries will earn 1 point. Events themselves will have modifiers based on their perceived difficulty/level of effort required. For example: the modifier for fiction will be 3, the modifier for gaming/graphics/poetry will be 2, and no modifier will be added to puzzle/trivia/flash events.

Grading formula: (Placement Score * Event Modifier) + Participation = Event Score

At the end of the competition, the individual scores for all three weeks will be added up, and the top three individuals will earn crescents for the overall competition. Total scores for both teams, including the Week Zero event, will determine the victorious team.

This month I'd like to recongize Neophyte Eilana Kilaeon who has recently seen a surge in activity and participation with the clan. A long-time friend of Mune in real-life, through the engagement of her Quaestor Captain Raleien Sonavarret she has gained several ranks and is well on her path to completing her journey to Journeyman IV.

This is a great reminder to us that our community does not mandate continual activity. We may come and go and participate as we desire. While we strive to create a welcoming community and competitions that range from puzzles (easy) to battleplans (hard) we recognize and support real-life engagements outside of the club.

What is being done to increase recruitment, as we currently only have one member under the rank of JM4? - Archangel

This is a great question and one with the longest path for us. There were a few pressing priorities I wanted to address before this one.

1. Restructure the clan into two houses - √
   
2. Establish a "writers room" for drafting a consistent CSP story - √
   
3. Create a Competition Calendar to ensure we have continual competitions planned - √
   
4. Foster relationships with the other clans for larger community events - √
   

As we exit ProBowl V recruitment will obtain my full attention. I have several options I'll be exploring from reedit thread posting, social media, to some of the gaming communities that exist on Discord that can now communicate with us on the same platform.

I'm always open for additional suggestions and for volunteers who would like to help spearhead these efforts.

How often are merit award and promotion audits being completed on the Clan, and what is the standard bribe these days? - Archangel

There are monthly reviews of high performing members of the clan to assess if ad-hoc awards should be issued. The promise is not to go more than a quarter without a review. As such, the next quarter review will align with the completion of ProBowl V and I look forward to reviewing all the entries at the end of the event.

What are our plans for dominating our system? - Archangel

I'll encourage you to see more of a teaser when the next PulseFeed News post is made. From a logistical component we have the conclusion to the Dark Times Saga slated for January, 2022. This will allow us to play out the following competitions for the remainder of 2022.

With the start of ProBowl V the first competition is live. It's a rather simple puzzle that has vexxed me to try and get a faster time with its easy to memorize pattern. Please submit a puzzle time as participation will be key for everyone.

Drafting has been complete for a couple of the clans and we are waiting to finalize by the end of this week.

A reminder to everyone I will be on vacation Thursday, September 23rd through Monday, September 27th. I'll be online in the evenings briefly but my wife has promised me a most terrifying death if I pull out my phone while at Disney World with the kids.
