Dark Forge Newsletter #8 - Cold Steel shines brightest.

Blessings and fair tidings my brothers and sisters, we did it! Clan Arcona came second place overall, but we screwed every Clan twice over by acing Fading Light III. Can you guess who was the spearhead in all of this conflict against the traitor? (still have no idea who it actually is btw o-o) It wasn’t those fancy sailors in their expensive ship, or the Zummerzet Mafia. It was the guys and gal who poured out their blood, sweat and tears by shearing through every single event offered with sterling dedication: Dark Forge! But I want to give a special thank you to three people during this event: Cethgus for his competitive, morale boosting emails, Atyiru for being one of the grunts in Arcona’s time of need, and Andrelious for being the superstar admin he is by creating the tracker for us. Well done, summit! You’re always in my good books.

Now moving onto the future, because we live in it. I want to address some things that I would like done in our little Dark Forge world, some things you can assist with, and general miscellaneous topics followed by the awards.

DF Wiki

So far, this has recently been updated with the Operation: Figureheads events, yet I wish to include more. Sadly, I’m not a good enough writer for that. Those in DF who wish to help in this area can message me, and I’ll illustrate what structures we are required to follow. But as far as the main page goes, it’s looking pretty swish. In a projective manner, I am going to adhere to the Wiki Warlord’s comments and try to gain some pictures for my own wiki. If anyone wants to try drawing a emancipated, blue Togruta slithering around the Academy halls on Lyspair, knock your socks off. Again you need to approach me first with structure and scenario, but my door is always open, and my turnaround is minutes. Conclusively, we also have a vehicle and armour that could do with rejuvination.

DJB Facebook

As most of you should well be aware of now, there’s an invention called social media. On this invention, we have the highly controversial and addictive Facebook. On this book of faces, the Dark Jedi Brotherhood have expanded out with the help of our furious Recruitment Tribune, Yacks. So far he has done stellar work in making social media more manageable by the DC, as well as working with the Seneschal by getting the ‘share’ buttons in check that you see now. I am proud to work with this Taldryan simply because he has awoken the blood of life in what we are here to do: to recruit members. The main aim of the game is to interest Star Wars fans at first by posting interesting news, pictures and other bits we find. But then we tease them, we smother them and corrupt their minds into our fold by slipping in pesky pictures of Warbanners on Wednesdays and Lightsabers on Sundays. This is where you, the reader, comes in. If you find a Warbanner that you think looks the coolest, or a hilt from a Lightsaber that makes your jaw drop, them email one of the recruitment team, grab our attention to this Magnum Opus of the Herald staff and we will happily take it into account.

Operation: Revival

There it is, guys! The workhorse has been whipped back into action (and enjoyed it.) With three posts already off the mark, I am really impressed that our Kordath got the first bait. I cannot wait to see where the ancient and wise Neti goes off to today with his newfound friends and Drip-drop. As for me, I couldn’t tell you where I will be, most likely in the gutter somewhere or on a medical bed. In the meantime I want to hear about every submission from you guys, as well as the word count for Esca’s awesome tracker. It’s important that we on the summit get this raw data so we can calculate who put in a concentrated amount of effort, and what they’ve earned for doing so. This might be CI’s or it might be a SC, we don’t know yet. If you’ve got any ideas, the link for that is here and the actual Run-on is here. Please enjoy yourselves. Remember myself, Atyiru and Cethgus will always be here, or an email away, to proof your entries.

Changes

Scrolls & Seals

For all our hard efforts in the Fading Light III, we earned a hell of a lot of seals, lovely yummy baby seals to club. I also clocked in a sneaky SI for getting Scarlet to Protector! Also Meleu was our chosen loyal member on the Day of the Fox, congratulations XO!

  • Scroll of Indoctrination for Lexiconus
  • 3 Seals of the Crusader for Meleu
  • 5 Seals of the Crusader for Kordath
  • 5 Seals of the Crusader for Lexiconus
  • 5 Seals of the Crusader for Ood
  • 4 Seals of the Crusader for K’Tana
  • Seal of Loyalty for Meleu

Merit Medals

This amount of reccs has not been seen since the days when Valhavoc was in charge, I do believe. You have all done sterling work and I am extremely proud of all of you. Now let’s scoop up that sweet jam of success and slap it onto Operation: Revival!

  • Dark Cross for Donblas
  • Anteian Cross for Ood
  • Steel Cross for Lexiconus

Krath Priest Kordath!

Well, this is certainly overdue indeed. After all of his trials and tribulations, the drunken Ryn has managed to pull it off and enter the dangerous world of the Equites! His stellar work in Fading Light II & III, his diligent entries into Operation: Revival and his full whack of 5 massive months leading the best Battleteam in the club got him to this stage. I am proud to call Kord my brother in arms, no matter anyone else’s opinion.

Goodbye Kyrun

Several days ago after two weeks of notice, Kyrun was transferred to Rogues from the Dark Forge list. I personally did not know the member, simply because he was never around when I was going through the ranks, or as I grew to where I am today. But I do respect him, and I am feeling a loss. It’s not easy letting go of another being, he may be better off but his real priorities will always come first. If he does return, I cannot guarantee he is welcome back, people come and go at different rates so while I hope he returns, it might not be for Dark Forge. All the best for Kyrun in his mysterious path.

Personal Note

Most of you know by now that I’m a busy student. I’ve just finished handing in my third science report on ecology for Semester 1 and I’m nowhere near finished yet. I’m set to go to the Martin Mere Wetland and Wildfowl Trust in two weeks, then off to Chester Zoo this weekend to assist a group of my friends around the place, followed by a genetics exam about the heritage and mutation genes found in Drosophila melangaster. It’s pretty epic stuff! Coming 18th November a very holy artifact is being delivered to my door, which I have been waiting and drooling over for the past few weeks. It can be found in GAME, but I personally prefer the Amazon version, simply because of the Blood Ruby Pack. I hope you guys enjoy the next couple of weeks, because soon, we’re going to come face to face with the deadliest of enemies: ourselves in GJW. Thanks for reading, and as always, my email is always open to anyone.

But great report, Lexic :)

Good report Lexic!

Lex, I read your first report and it was okay. I read this one and was mindblown. Your reports have improved so hugely dramatically and it's been super-awesome to see you come along as a BTL. Well done to both you and your team :)
