Dinaari Quaestor Report: Lucky #7

header

Good evening gentlepandas!

After a hard fought week on Begeren, it’s time to sit down with a refreshed beverage, read the report from the local Quaestor, and watch 22 blokes run up and down a grass field kicking a ball one way and the other for a golden cup with a ball on top. Life is good, life is great.

Fading Light Update

Even though this round of the ACC event has come to an end, some battles still need to be judged. However, some results are already know. One thing is for sure; according to Yacko’s calculations, Taldryan as a whole has taken the top spot when it comes to participation. This means we are about half way to our goal of dominating this round (huzzah!)

ToR Duel Nights?!

In other news; our resident battle team The Harbingers, under leadership of resident gaming superpower Armags, will be hosting Duel Nights! Duel nights will take the form of fighting out duels on The Old Republic MMO in the level 15 bracket. As you may or may not know, The Old Republic has shifted to a free-to-play (with subscriber option) strategy a while ago. This means that everyone can go download their copy, and invest the short amount of time it takes to hit level 15, and then start dueling people for delicious shinies!

Because of some administrative issues, the first installment of Duel Nights cannot be held today, but we can host a catch-up-night. When you ask? That’s entirely up to you, just leave a comment bellow on which day would be easiest for you and we’ll try to reach a compromise. The next installment will certainly happen next Friday. You can find out more details about duel nights in the competition round up below.

New Arrival

Please join me in welcoming the newest Dinaarian, Sicarius Aaray.
Sicarius, if you’re reading this, there has been a small problem with your contact details. We have been unable to reach you on the email address you supplied on sign up.

Competitions galore!!

There’s some competitions going on that you can enter while you wait for the next round of the ACC to start, or to participate in between posting.

Taldryan Competitions

  1. Strictly Business: A short graphics competition hosted by yours truly. Design a barber shop and see it used on the wiki in the near future! Be as serious or humorous you want.
  2. Re-loading the can(n)ons #1: Our glorious blue consul has brought back one of my personal favorite competitions of all time. In the trend of the ACC, you are to write a battle between your own character and an established character from the star wars universe. The catch? You’ll be writing for both sides on your own. The up side? You don’t have to wait for someone else to post!
  3. Praise be the Tarax: The pen is mightier than the sword, but Tarax is mightier than all. Show your adoration for our resident Sherpa by writing a piece of poetry highlighting his achievements.
  4. Puzzle Time!: Dru has returned with the next installment of his famous jigsaw puzzle competition. Keeping with the times, this one is football themed (huzzah!)
  5. Gatekeeper Trials: Battle it out with your fellow clan members to claim the title of Gatekeeper and lead the honor guard!
  6. ToR Duel Nights: This competition is still undergoing approval, but it should be up and running soon. Expect an email on the Taldryan mailing list concerning the details and a quick how-to to setup the game and start kicking some ass.

DB Wide Competitions

  1. Fading Light ACC Tournament: Unless you’ve been living under a rock for all of May and June, the Brotherhood is currently in a struggle for dominance of the One Sith controlled Begeren. In the form of the recently re-opened ACC, members will battle it out with their keenly honed writing abilities.

I AM SEPARATE

Since I have already been knocked out of the ACC tournament, I’ll be spending my time brushing up my communication skills. So expect a lot more emails from me in the future. I’ll also be thinking about ideas for competitions, this doesn’t mean that you should not approach me if you have an idea or two yourself. Drop them in my inbox, or find me on IRC, and we’ll work out the finer details together. Other than that, I’ll be enjoying the FIFA World Cup and working on my character’s wiki article (that one desperately needs working on, it is a desolate place).

As always, if you have questions, ideas, or concerns, you can always approach me by email or on IRC (I don’t bite…hard)

YAY!
