Taldryan Intelligence Directorate:

The director of Taldryan’s Counter Intelligence Service, Raeth Elson, walks in for the weekly debriefing. Something seems off; he’s looking more uncomfortable than usual. While given the Consul of Taldryan alone can be a fairly intimidating person, it’s even worse when the leaders of both Houses and the Proconsul are with him. Raeth seems more nervous than usual, it wouldn’t take someone force sensitive to realize it either. The boardroom became somber. All eyes were on him. Keirdagh was the first to speak, he could feel the disturbance, but was unable to place his finger on it. “What happened?” he asked. “We can’t say with 100% certainty yet the full scope of the situation, but it seems that there has been a leak. I don’t know how to say this, and I’m even more certain that you don’t want to hear it, but I’m willing to risk my credibility on there being a traitor amongst our halls.” Raeth responded.

“A TRAITOR!” Keirdagh exclaimed. “How in the Hell do we have a traitor amongst us?” The looks of concern turned to anger “This must be dealt with immediately, swiftly, with great vengeance and furious anger.” Raistline spoke up.“What did this traitor do exactly?” Raeth seemed hesitant to answer and upset the room any further. “It seems that whoever betrayed us has not only informed the Sphinxian Satellite Technologies that we are on to their plans, but also they gave up the names of the team focused on gathering intelligence from them.” Howlader leaned forward and expressed his concern for the agents who’s cover has been blown. “We must do everything in our power to protect these agents and their work.”

“I wish we could Sir, but it appears to be too late.” Reath said with a sigh “There’s been a breach and the team is already missing. I have a team that I trust trying to recover the holotapes as we speak. They have been damaged in the attack, but something might be salvageable.” “What else has happened, I want all the details.” Keirdagh demanded. “Well Sir, it seems that the team of 6 has gone missing, and in the attack they managed to either destroy or retrieve most of the data that we have managed to collect on them. This was a thorough and well thought out plan. At the moment, we are unsure whether the traitor escaped with the culprits or if they are still in the compound. My recommendation is that we create a new task force of those that we know we can trust.” “Right now – I’m not sure that I trust anyone anymore.” Keirdagh said demoralized.

Omega Kira, Quaestor of Dinaari, leaned forward. “This is surely the worst thing to happen on Karufr. There is no way that any of us could have known this strike would happen.” Raistline joined in “Omega is right, it’s a tragedy that happened today, but right now we need to focus on capturing the traitor and bringing our team back home.” “You’re right, both of you. Raistline I need you to compile a list of people we can trust, Omega assemble a task force. I’m tired of sitting on our asses, it’s time to get into this fight.” “Yes, Sir.” They said in unison.
