The Last Stop

Planet Caina, Somewhere in the North Hemisphere, Cocytus System

The new base that the Aedile had set up in Caina was meant to be one of the most inhospitable places in the planet. Away from the more comfortable temperatures of the tropical belt, the building being constructed in a desolate valley of ice and snow was taking its toll on the local builders. Many had frozen to death since Rosh had started the operation, and the ones who had managed to survive worked sixteen hours a day, barely being fed and resting in tents that didn't protect at all from the temperatures outside.

For Rosh Nyine, Aedile of the House Excidium, the slow death the workers were suffering was both a need for secrecy and a good opportunity to study the climate effects on humans, which he needed for his own purposes. Soon, Excidium would have a new secondary base of operations, where assassins would be trained in the worst conditions possible to ensure that only the best would succeed.

Introduction

Greetings Excidium! Another month has gone by, and what a month for most people in Scholae! Monstrosity had most of our members extremely busy lately and has shown that we have really good people in our ranks ready to tackle anything in their way. The last time, when I wrote my first report, I still had to make an assessment on the House, but now I have to say that I'm positively surprised about our members and how everything works in Excidium. This is definitely a House with great people of many skills, and that makes an Aedile's work way easier. We have lost some members in the lowest ranks but we are keeping a really good activity rate. Now, I won't delay this much, so moving on to the next section!

News

We got trophies! We got Battlefront! We got a Dark Brotherhood wide ACC tournament!

So... it's a thing, right? Everybody knows about that feeling of accomplishment when you are playing a game and you get that small box saying "achievement unlocked" or "trophy obtained". It makes you feel like you're progressing, you're moving forward. Well, now the Dark Brotherhood has trophies as well, and you can see how good are you doing by comparing yourself to others, or just enjoy looking at your collection and plan what could you go for next. While not something that will count for promoting or awards, it's definitely something that can point you in right directions, and for those who are in those long periods of time between the equite ranks, they give us a sense of purpose. So yeah, trophies. My thanks from Excidium to the Dark Council for those!

Now, let's see. Did you know about Battlefront? Well, even if you're not a gamer you'll probably know that we have been expecting this sequel for years, and some of us (including the one writing this) have been neglecting other things just to play the hell out of it. Yeah, it's that good. The only thing that concerns me is that we all are scrambled around many platforms but hey, nothing's perfect!

We also have an ACC invitational tournament going on, with one of ours participating in it. Make sure to follow up the competition and wish the best to Archangel, and let's not forget about Imperium's Aedile either, Lexiconus. Do your best, guys!

Now, to end this section... It has been a long time since we, Star Wars fans, have waited for the release of a new movie. Years waiting, hoping that Lucas would not shut down Star Wars for good as he had stated many times. We are just a few days away of a new era in Star Wars with the release of The Force Awakens, a movie that has shaken the very foundations of Star Wars, shattering the old Expanded Universe and trying to give a fresh, unified perspective of Star Wars' Universe. The dice are cast, and my next report will likely be completely different, as the new movie will be out already. Let's hope for the best, we fans deserve it.
