Observation Tower

High above Kar Alabrek

Tarthos

The moonlight accentuated the cityscape, a cold contrast to the fires that burned in the distance, cleansing the filth from one of the more replaceable sectors. Outside the observation tower, a lonely silhouette perched, nonchalantly taking in the substance of the city’s soul. The moon hung over the city so close, one could almost reach out and touch its beauty. The cool crisp air of the seasonal change cleared the mind of the shadowy visitor. For the past few weeks, this was home, in every loose essence of the word. The lone Sadowan seemed to be in a trance-like state as he scanned the city.

The fires on the cityscape were not the only fires burning at the moment. The fire within the lone black clad Warrior was burning as furious as the fires his eyes were focused on.

“How could I could I miss that the mole was Major Cromwell..?”

The frustration and confusion swelled inside the Equite like the tsunamis on Kamino. His feelings crashed against him like waves crashing against rocks. His emotions were getting the better of him, the young Sith had to get them under control. There was no place now for any type of berserker rage filled incidents. The Warrior sat legs crossed, breathing in the crisp air of the city. The smell of the fires were present, but for a moment he focused on the closest fire. Watching it dance, its movements with the wind. A waltz with reality, slow quick seamless steps, then building to the beautiful full movements of the dance. His heart slowed, his breathing deepened, the Dark Side of the Force engulfing its practitioner, then a moment of pure unadulterated silence. The dance of the fire and the crisp air have become the vessel for the young Warrior’s walk to totality.

Night Hawks! What a crazy month! I hope that everyone who celebrated Turkey day stuffed themselves with good food and fellowship. Christmas is just around the corner so I hope everyone is prepping for that festivity!! Well, we have some great news over the last month. Hunter Inyri is now Knight Inyri!!! Congrads on the promotion! To coincide with that great news we have acquired Mystic Firith to the team!!!! So glad you are aboard Sir!!

BTL Thoughts: Crazy thought through my head as I dig into this new role. I am considering setting up a monthly ACC challenge for us, we can challenge any member of the team just so we can gain some experience with ACC Battles. Thoughts…..?

I am always looking for good ideas for us to organize or participate in. So when you get a few minutes of downtime, please shoot me some ideas.

So another idea I came up with is I am going to be reaching out to each of you every month for your own words to enter into our Battleteam Report. So, first up on deck is our very own newly promoted Knight Inyri Ginovef:

Threat Analysis Report

Kar Alabrek

Knight Inyri Ginovef

As we continue our campaign to reclaim Kar Alabrek, we have to consider the position and role of the Night Hawks in this operation. Though right now we are currently consolidating our base of operations, we need to always be planning ahead and facing realities that are not necessarily pleasant or easy to accept.

The most immediate issues are the continued and hostile presences of the various street gangs that have taken control of the city in the absence of the House. But on an overall strategic level, this is insignificant, as we have managed to contain just about every issue thus far, and they are losing ground to the simple fact that they are a force of untrained and loosely affiliated individuals who only have power because of the absence of anyone more capable. But the problem is deeper than that, and this analysis has a few ideas to present. Please bear in mind that these are conjectures based on the most recent intelligence and that this is all subject to change without notice.

The reason that this is a deeper problem is that this rise of near anarchy is a sign of a failure of the local government and law enforcement, either willfully or not, but either option is equally bad. If the local government and/or law enforcement had a hand in this, then our objective to reclaim Kar Alabrek just got a great deal more complicated, and may necessitate the removal of the individuals who aided in this rise of anarchy (the execution of said removal may not always require actual force, as blackmail or coercion may be entirely sufficient). Equally disturbing is if they had no willing participation since that suggests widespread incompetence and an inability by the local government and law enforcement to execute their duties without House interference.

I mention this because while the House is focused quite closely on the elimination of the gangs and reclamation of Kar Alabrek, Battle Team Night Hawks should consider the possibility of investigation and acting against the local government and law enforcement in order to remedy this situation and remove the possibility of this happening again. I also recommend that we minimize collateral damage when doing so since the worst case scenario is a popular uprising that would be very difficult to control.

We also need to address and deal with the issue of outside interference. Several times, the street gangs have been observed with weapons, equipment, and personnel that are outside the normal realm of their logistics, and while some of it can be written off as having acquired them from sacking law enforcement and military armories or just hiring basic mercenaries, it underlies a much larger issue of interference by forces that have a vested interest in the collapse or failure of the Battle Team, House, or even Clan. Given the inter-clan rivalries of the Dark Brotherhood, as well as (unconfirmed) reports of a possible large-scale purge, this could go in countless directions, and as far up as the Dark Council or even the Grand Master himself. This is largely going to be beyond the Battle Team to take on, but we are in a position to obtain intelligence and curb further outside interference during this operation. Though we can’t stop interlopers from interfering, we can make the option to seeking outside assistance less and less viable to those attempting to utilize it.

It is the opinion of this report that while there are issues much larger than the Battle Team, and therefore outside of our capacity to act against, we are actually in a unique position to handle some of the more underlying issues, obtain vital intelligence to further aid the House and Clan, and to more immediately respond to problems that can arise during the reclamation campaign. Once Night Hawk’s position is more secure, we should consider all available avenues of action as soon as they become available to us.
