A Preview of Upcoming XP Changes
This will be a quick report. The first thing I want to note is that the DC has been reviewing the results of the XP Survey and we've developed a tentative plan for some changes to the XP system, including removing diminishing returns for all clusters. You should also anticipate that the XP thresholds for most or all ranks will increase somewhat to partially offset the XP windfall that many of you will receive from this change. As always, these changes will not cause anyone to lose a rank and we will do our best to make sure people at least maintain their current progress towards the next rank.
I don't have exact numbers to share right now, but once I do I'll discuss the proposed changes with the DC and CONs and put out a more detailed report explaining everything. More to come!
New Loyalist Honorifics
Just yesterday, Esca and Sarin submitted a proposal for adding a new "branch" of naval ranks for our loyalists and revising the existing loyalist ranks to more clearly reflect an (Imperial) Army flavor. This morning we decided to throw in an entire third branch of "political" ranks. So here we are, these are the new and revised honorifics available immediately:

When we get proposals that make sense and are easy to implement without major site changes, we can move pretty quickly. I'm always open to new proposed honorifics--just keep in mind that we want to avoid overlap with existing honorifics as much as possible (hence "Fleet" on the front of three of the naval ranks).

Nice work on the updated Honorifics.
It’s great to see the Navy and political ranks in. If any of the other rank changes are upsetting, reach out to Bubba. I don’t think anyone of us were married to the Army changes (or wanted to ruin anyone’s rp).
So these are new ones and won't replace the old ones? cos the EL3 honorific of General is also available (or was) to EL1
As someone in the Navy, these ranks are a bit wild. A Warrant Officer does not rank above an Ensign. I know it’s limited and we have to jump a few ranks. Your Army ranks seem to follow a correct flow. The new Navy do not follow that. I would like to apply actual Navy ranks to this. Yeoman is a job not a rank. We could make them Petty Officers. Something that follows equivalent rank to the the real army.
Fleet lieutenant doesn’t make sense. LTJG and then LT does. Generally the idea of “Fleet” added to ranks doesn’t make sense. We don’t add “army Captain”
I know in Star Wars realm we add “Fleet” to admiral ranks. But to make them lower ranks is nonsensical. As someone in the Navy these make zero sense and need to be reworked.

Ood, believe some folks are Grandfathered in. This ensures no one is upset by the change to General. Good move by Bubba.
That's not much comfort to people that were going to change or were looking forward to choosing it when they get promoted.
Sykes, great comments. Might be some differentiation from Star Wars ranks to actual Navy ranks in the US or UK Navy. Believe the team pulled from canon sources and filled in the gaps where a rank was needed. Warrant officer being above where it would be in the US navy is an example. Send Bubba your thoughts.

I like it, it adds more flavor, though I admittedly panicked with the General part. My half-awake brain keeps thinking about some of the ranks in Starship Troopers for any weird overlap and if you want to break away from too much RL military. I'd bust myself from a General to a Career Ship Sergeant in the blink of an eye. :D
