Guardian Corps Report #6 - After the Mountain

Guardian Corps

Ladies and gentlemen,

This is going to be one large follow-up to what happened with the second part of Streets Painted Crimson. Expect it to be brief.

Oh, and since everyone's binging the Old Republic and we had a lot of old Sith stuff in the storylines, we're going with gifs from that game this month.

Hollow Mountain Results

Old Republic because Why Not

To get the obvious out of the way first, here’s a quick breakdown of the final scores to those who were involved. This actually just largely came down to people winning just by participating more than anything else at the end of the day, but our two winners were still those who ended up in first for the majority of our competitions.

Revak K’Urr - 13

Aurora "Aura" Ta'var - 12

Jafits Skrumm - 11

Celevon Werd’a - 5

Benn Nevis - 4

So, congratulations to Revak K’Urr, Aurora "Aura" Ta'var, and Jafits Skrumm for coming in first second and third place, and the overall victors in this event. Thank you also to everyone who took the time to get involved, especially those from the Conclave, given this was originally a purely Guardians event.

Also, just as our featured entry for this month, this is what Jafits put together to give some fantastic visuals to our new Sith Temple:

Fiction Update

This has nothing to do with the story

Full Fiction Here

For the TL:DR version:

  • The auction house is set on fire when a fight starts out, likely triggered by members of the Black Sun present.
  • The Odan-Urr members on site are able to rescue a large number of the Sith relics being sold. Unfortunately, they are less successful in preventing many of those present from escaping.
  • Those who were present on Trepus are able to confirm that there is a Sith Temple hidden within the mountain, but gain little additional information.
  • Opting to temporarily occupy the archeologists camp to guard the temple, they try to find some answers from whatever is left behind.

Feedback and Ideas

Ships

With that done, I want to hear what each of you have to say on this and the Guardians' general direction. It’s what we said we’d do from the start, and what we’ll do here. I’ll be messaging each of you a couple of feedback forms to answer to any extent that you wish, from just basic yes or no questions to more detailed feedback as you desire. We’re open to any ideas you want to see or concepts you want to push, or even just things you want us to avoid for next time.

It’s also why we’re skipping the Q&A for this month, as I get the feeling we’d likely see people repeating points, or even just saying they’d like to reserve their comments for full feedback.

Maintaining Momentum

I had to get this one in here somewhere

As some closing thoughts, I just wanted to offer up this as a subject to everyone both in the Guardians and Conclave. Something that’s clear to all right now is that we’re very short on time. It doesn’t seem to matter which part of the world we’re in or even what we’re focusing on, everyone’s just short on time to devote to the website. It’s why Streets Painted Crimson was made to try and account for that. As such, I just wanted to offer one bit of advice.

If you’re truly short on time or even if you’re just suffering from a mental block on getting anything done, go to your calendar. Mark down some point at the weekend, or even just a day off, and note something small to do on it relating to art, writing, or gaming. Then stick to it no matter what. It sounds like a small thing, but having it in writing or on a schedule can seriously help to focus on activities again, especially if you’re swamped by work or just life in general. By having a single time definitively set aside, it can help to break how things are going.

It doesn’t even have to be a big thing. Just a sketch of something, five hundred words describing a scene, or even a single Mario Kart track. It doesn’t even have to be on the Brotherhood - my own effort was a competition outlet completely unrelated to anything on here - but it’s a means to claw back some control and then build on it. Once you have that barrier, it can be a chance to start focusing on outlets you desire over having everything else drown out your life. Right now, that seems like what all of us need.

Very well said on the closing section.

Yes, very well said. At the end of the day, even scheduling something that you enjoy doing, even if its just a little time to yourself can make a big difference in your life. Looking forward to seeing how the Houses tackle their next big mission!
