Leadership Degrees Overhaul

The SA staff has been working on some housekeeping and quality-of-life updates to various departments post-war that I’ll detail in a bigger report, but there is an overhaul to the leadership degrees that has been submitted for coding into the site that is going to go live sometime in the next week. I wanted to do a special report to announce the leadership degree changes rather than some people getting surprised in their email.

Talking to new joins and longstanding members during the war, there were some consistent pain points identified in the SA. One of the recurring ones for long-time members was the debate course requirements for the leadership degrees. So once the degree changes go live on the site, the debate courses will be fully retired. In place of the two debate courses, COJ 101: Basic Covenant Studies will be required for the Leadership and Communication Savant. There is no existing leadership sage, so a new one is being created that will require the Leadership Proposals course and a position time requirement. The requirement for the Leadership and Communication Savant will also be removed from the Law Sage, leaving it as a pure service degree for the COJ.

The updated requirements are available on the degrees wiki page and again will go live sometime in the next week.

Closing

Expect a bigger report sometime in the next few weeks with some more content updates (for the recent systems and website changes) and quality-of-life changes (bye bye essays not related to coding, leadership or writing).
