Herald event finished! Shrouding New Ground: Nancora

Welcome, freelancer!
The event is done and, in my opinion, it was a successful first try after many years.
Numbers!
A total of 47 members participated in the event:
- The most popular comp was, obviously, Pazaak - Let's Go Gambling! with 21 participants
- This surprised me! The ACC comp had 16 participants and some really great battles. Really great work. I hope to make more of these in future.
- The third by participation was RP: Hunter or Prey? with 15 participants in 4 teams. I hope to see more in future, because we will do RPs again!
The rest of the comps had 10 or fewer participants, which is pretty good for the amount of work required. And it gives us a good view into the new comp system.
- R2-D2oodle (10)
- Vandal Art (8)
- Ion the Horizon (7)
- Order 66,000 Volts (7)
- Haute Off the Press (6)
- Ruins of Nancora (5)
- Gangs of Nancora (4)
- Make 'Em or Break 'Em (2)
Overall winner
I'd like to congratulate Nildea Vidh (aka Tor) for winning the event with an incredible 16 points won with 3 first placements and 1 second placement. Incredible work!

Outro Fiction
Nancora orbit 44 ABY 9 years after the battle
Nancora never seemed to find a calm moment. Even now, after the landing zones were secured, after fortifications were raised from the dust of Collective megalomania, and even after the Shroud Syndicate had hammered durasteel and duracrete into the rusty bones of the dead world, the planet refused to be silenced. Lightning ripped the sky apart without respite, thunder rolled over the wastelands like a nine-year-old orbital bombardment that never ended.
Amidst the turmoil and fury, civilization endured.
The Syndicate’s foothold on Nancora turned from a foothold into something much grander. What began as scavenger hovels and dusty-ridden landing platforms had transformed into a permanent fortress atop a city of ruin and rubble, carved into the guts of the refinery complex.
The locals called it Blackwake, or Blackwake Climb. The Herald called it an investment in the future of the organization.
Massive refinery walls had been reinforced, lined with defense lasers, barrels pointed toward the storm-dark skies and the dust-ridden surface, scanning for incoming threats. Sensor arrays and shield emitters crackled with energy harvested directly from Nancora’s atmosphere and the factories below. Under all of it, the Tempest Crown Cantina breathed with cheer and enjoyment of life, such as it was.
And at the heart of the installation, the Blackwake spire. Hub of communications across distant message beacons scattered across the badlands, processing data and beaming it into orbit with pure light as its messenger. Next to it, behind the shields, towering refueling pylons offered their services to corvettes, raiders, and freighters alike, all docked or moving in constant rotation. Cargo moved day and night, unbothered by the storms or the attacks from scavengers in the deep barren wastes.
Profit moved Blackwake, profit alone dictated its actions. And every crew that made their base in Blackwake, every group that raided the wastelands for treasure, and every would-be adventurer or merc that found themselves on the bad end of Nancora's wrath, carried one singular certainty with them: Nancora paid well, if it didn’t kill you first.
