New Year, New Stuff

First off, I find it oddly coincendental that my first report of 2017 happens to come on the same day as the inauguration of the United States' new “Dread Lord”. Ok, well, that seems to be a bit of a stretch, but the timing is still interesting. That being said I wanted to take a second here to thank our Dread Lord, Teylas, for his service to the Clan. Even though he joined well before me, Teylas and I have in a lot of ways come up in the DB together. In fact up until EQ3 we were promoted at pretty much the same time. While at times we've been in-character rivals, we've gotten along quite well. I've been honored to serve with him and I hope his future endeavors are just as prosperous, even if they do involve waking up Howie every so often.

Also, just today there was a swath of new stuff added to the possessions stores and boy does it look good. While the title of Evant's Report detailing the update suggests it's only for Rogue One stuff, there are actually new toys from Rebels, Clone Wars, and, the part that makes me giddy, the Fantasy Flight miniatures games! For those who have been on Skype with me, you might be well aware that I've been in love with the Raider-class Corvette since it first came out and now that it's available for purchase, I can't contain myself. Almost makes up for only allowing the pistol from the A-180.

Things to Do!

While we don't have an organized event going on at present, there are plenty of fun things to be doing. The first comp out there I wanted to hilight is one being run by our very own Abadeer. In The Most Dangerous Game you have to survive long enough in the wilderness to, well, do what we do best. I won't spoil the rest so go look at the thing. Taranae is also running a word game event in Whats in a NAME. I'm always on the lookout for new and interesting competition ideas so please, feel free to let us know and we'll look into it.

One more thing in this category while I'm thinking about it. In his most recent Report , our esteemed Combat Master detailed a new option now available in the ACC. Ever wanted to do the ACC but not necessarily fight the other person? Are you more of a fan of PvE rather than PvP? Then the cooperative hall is for you! Long story short, you're basically “teamed up” with your opponent to fight whatever horde of NPCs, big scary monster, and/or boss level baddie you choice. I for one think this is an awesome addition to the ACC, so much so that I convinced that other quastor fellow of ours to go try it out with me. That's right everyone, it's been a long time coming, but now it's on. QUASTOR FIGHT!.

My Thoughts for the Equites

While other folks have touched on this recently, I wanted to put out a thought or two of my own on those in the Equite class, particularly something that Laren touched on in his report. As you move up the Equite ladder, it becomes very important to start becoming a producer of stuff for the Clan and the Brotherhood rather than simply doing events. That can take a number of forms from leadership positions to working with the Dark Council to just working on things around the clan. While we don't always have things going on that need doing, the summit is always looking for folks to work on various and sundry projects. If you need or want something to do, feel free to ask, we just might be able to help. This is especially true if you have some cool idea of something you want to try out. Talk to us and we might just be able to figure something out.

Moment of Zen

Today’s moment of Zen doesn’t involve warships or cute bunnies, but actually an old favorite scene of mine that may or may not have inspired the aforementioned Wing of Dread showdown.
