HKM Quaestor Report

Fiction

Brought to you by Kul'tak Drol

The feed burst with static as the connection attempted to resist the intrusion. An alabaster mask watched over the shoulder of his fellow Muurian as the Verpine’s appendages danced across the hub’s control board. The image flickered in and out, and for a brief moment Eiko thought it had been another failed attempt, but just as the image lost its connection for the third time the room became awash in the images of multiple battlegrounds. The white mask leaned in closer to muse over the pairs as they danced violently. His anonymizer masked any sound of appreciation in his voice.

“Well done, K’zset. Now we can have a direct visual to how our journeymen will represent their clan.”

This would be an important opportunity for Karness Muur, and by extension, Plagueis, to remind the other clans that, even after combating the Jedi of Odan-Urr, their power was no less weakened.

The Yeoman, Knight, and Hunter had all encountered their opponents respectively, and presumably without knowing why they were even there. The fight between the Hunter Taasii and the Scholae Palatinae Knight would be of particular interest. Eiko felt his blood warm at the thought.

“Think any of them will make it all the way? I'm putting my creditssss on Uscot.”

Eiko shrugged. Eiko held no concern for such trifles. He wished only to confirm Plagueis’ superiority amongst the Brotherhood. All of them had to make it to the final round, or the shame of failure would be the least of their worries.

News

Brotherhood

The Brotherhood just celebrated another year of its existence. In honor of the Exodus, Seals of Loyalty went out to people, including our own Dracaryis, Ra'gnar, and Kelly Mendes, who definitely deserve the attention for all the effort they put in. The wave of new blood in the Brotherhood has definitely been noticed, as some enlightening stats showcase.

The ACC is running a Journeyman Tourney that deserves your attention. Root for your favorites, and help them out by being available to edit posts and give them a helpful nudge. There's been some spectacular writing so far, with more sure to come.

Clan

Kalon and I are putting together the events for the 2016 Plagueis Pro Bowl, which will pit Teylas' and Selika's teams (of you awesome folks, drafted) in a wild, awkward, brilliant spectacle of all the best things that Plagueis has to offer. Keep your eyes peeled for extra information as we release it.

In his most recent report, Teylas highlighted the need for recruitment: getting your friends and other friendly nerds into the club. You should, at the very least, prepare your own personalized recruitment link and share it around with your friend group. Or not, if you think you're too cool to be seen with such terrifyingly awesome darksiders as Teylas, or me, or Drac. If you're ashamed, then... um... that hurts my feelings.

We can always use some more people. If you want to know more about why, then flip back and look at the Brotherhood news.

Since it was last open, the makeup on the Run-On has changed dramatically. With the Feud, and reshuffle of leadership, it's no longer a long-winded version of Drac and Eiko playing space-chess while the rest of you do the dirty work. While getting the next round of action set up will take a little bit, I fully support going in, RESERVING POSTS like normal humans, and letting off some of that post-Feud steam with some light fiction.

Oh, and there's more.

You still get to watch Drac and Eiko play space-chess.

'Cause space-chess is awesome.

Space.

Chess.

Space-chess.

House

We're still waiting patiently for the results of the Feud to come down, but Laren, Ra'gnar, and I are already stewing about post-Feud awards and activities. While you're cooling off from the battle on New Tython, you should definitely enjoy some of the lighter competitions hosted by Muurians and Pallites alike.

Kul'tak and Alishu have launched Bring Your Pet to Work Day, a bane on those of us who wear masks all the time to handle allergens, and a boon to everyone who's asked for some light writing competitions. Entertain the judges with your story of your pet, canonically or otherwise.

Abadeer and Kz'set are running The Pursuit of Power, exploring the (im)possibility of your character being appointed to (or simply claiming) the Iron Throne for yourself. The competition opens up officially in a few days, but that's no reason to not start working now! Good art takes time.

Across the proverbial aisle, you should stretch your legs and deplete your phone battery in the great outdoors by playing Ingress (for Android or iDevice) with Taranae and Kalon. Taranae is available to answer your questions if you don't know how to play. Hurry -- this one is only open for the next week!

Battle Team

No "news" per say, but just a general cheer of support for the effort of Ra'gnar and his cadre in keeping activity up. If you're a part of the Battle Team, you should boogie over to the Run-On and get acquainted to Laren in-character. It's a low-stress writing opportunity to polish up on your character and get into the day-to-day of Plagueis in a fictional sense.

Projects

Yarnspinner

With the Feud over, the need for light competitions in the interim is pretty well-met by the kinds of competitions mentioned above. Think about your ideal (or worst) pet and let Kul'tak and Alishu hear about it, or stretch your artistic muscle with Abadeer and Kz'set by imagining how it'd look if you ran the Brotherhood.

Dusty Attic

We're pawing through the wiki to find any lingering issues, but this project remains ongoing as we're anticipating some further changes in Plagueis.

Voices of Muur

This project is still better titled "Voices of Plaguies" or "How Did The Dark Tide Rise?", but whatever the name, the Run-On is back open! (Can you tell I'm excited?)

Promotions

Abadeer Taasii: Hunter

Laren Uscot: Yeoman

Final Thoughts

I want to point out one thing that has made me so very excited to be a part of Plagueis in the past several months.

Do you know why Drac and I loved spinning up the Run-On?

Do you know why I'm telling you about things that are happening over in Ajunta Pall?

It's not, in fact, because I'm defecting. No, I'm not a dirty dirty traitor to the Muurian cause.

It's not even because we had bigger fish (Jedi) to fry (exterminate).

It's because, deep down, we're all Plagueis. And no, I'm not just saying it because of the date today.

In other news, because of how nice the weather has been outside, and because of the earlier links, you should consider going outside. It's nice. Really. There are wonderful things to see out there.

Like space chess.

Thank you for the report ^_^ And double thank you for highlighting the comp~
