House Empire's Chosen Report 1

Welcome to my first report as Quaestor of Empire’s Chosen!

Introduction

This is a new House within Clan Scholae Palatinae.

I am the Quaestor: Dek. I’ve gone by a few names over the years. Rott, Ironius, and now Iron’yikut. The first name has remained the same. Mostly because I’ve wanted to give the appearance that people can have the same first name in the Star Wars universe, but also as a continued moniker that people can easily call me.

Purpose

I first want to say that none of what I am about to say is a reflection of past leadership groups. All past and current Consuls, Proconsuls, Rollmasters, Quaestors, Aediles, and Battleteam leaders did their best and tried many different things, many effective, some not as effective. But I hold no ill will to people of the past and neither should you. We’re all here as volunteers, donating our time to a club for the sole purpose of having fun.

With all of that said, I want to clarify as to reason this House exists in this form.

A long debate was held by the summit with some members involved in the decision. We all came to a unanimous decision that we needed to try something new to bring back CSP to higher levels of fun and community. We saw some fault within the old identities of Imperium and Excidium. They had become loose and lacked any concrete idea of what they were. We had too many leadership positions and not enough leaders. We didn’t promote capacity building. We built a Clan without a framework of people to hold it in place. We had built a Clan without a community behind it.

We asked for the name Empire’s Chosen. The first reason is that it doesn’t denote a specific character or strange sounding name. We are a Latin heavy club already, and over the years we’ve found that Latin names do not appeal to the large majority of people. We wanted to do something different as well. We wanted to name ourselves after our in-character purpose: rebuilding the Empire. We are the chosen of the CSP Empire to lead the Clan.

Out of character, and in the club itself, I personally have some goals that I want people to know are my priority and purpose for this House. The goals are in order of level of activity:

  1. To enjoy being in this House and in this Clan.
If anything, I hope you are happy here. I want you to be happy here. I want to facilitate your happiness as a leader. And if this isn’t happening, I want to know exactly what I can do to help. None of this “He’s an Equite” or “He’s a Quaestor” bs. I’m a teacher who teaches kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students. I live in New York City. I hold down a job. I have sisters and a brothers. I have a partner who I love and cherish. This is all to say that I’m a person, a human being, and I’m here to help you in any way that I can as a leader. I am entirely approachable.

  2. To have a voice in how things can occur. I want you to have a voice in how things can occur. That’s right. I don’t care if you’ve done 1 competition over the past 3 years. I don’t care if you did zero competitions this past Great Jedi War. If you’re in this House, you have a say in how it could be run. This includes the Clan to a certain degree. So I want you to be happy here, and either way if you are here, then you have a say.

  3. To provide a space for any type of activity. I want to give you options. If you have stuff you want to do, whether it is projects, competitions, or higher-reward activity, then I want to help you accomplish that. If this includes 1 competition a month, I want to help you do that. If this includes 10 competitions a week, I’ll see what I can do. If this includes a major project, we could always use help. If this includes a Clan level competition, that can be arranged. I want you to be happy, I want you to have a say, and I want you to be able to do what you want to do.

  4. To help you get to where you want to be in this club. If you have dreams of becoming GM one day, let’s lay out a path to doing so and see how we can facilitate that. If you have dreams of replacing me, then let’s make a plan to see how this can be accomplished. If you want to be the Herald, or a magistrate, or an Appeals Panelist, or earn a sacramental reward, or be First Hero in a Vendetta, then I want you help you get to that spot. I want you to at least be happy. You’ll always have a say either way. And I want to make sure you can do the things you want to do and accomplish the things you want to accomplish. I’m always here to help you.

Within all of this, I want to be able to build a community with you.

News

With the end of the Great Jedi War, we’re going to be going over a few things for the House and Clan. Currently, we’re looking at a military rework and a wiki update. We’re also looking forward to our next story. Our last one ended with the creation of the Xen Imperial Protectorate on former Meraxis land. It’s a small group that is pro-CSP and loyal to the Imperial aspect of our Clan. They honored us by naming their protectorate after CSP’s first Imperial Consul.

We also have 3 positions open. Our Clan needs a Proconsul and Rollmaster. But if you’re interested in something smaller, then the Aedile of this House position is opening up.

Here are the requirements:

  • 24 Hour Email Turnaround
  • Access to Telegram and Discord
  • Desire to learn and help build capacity
  • No past leadership experience needed
  • No minimum rank

The position can be filled with someone who has vast experience, or someone who has no experience. Either way, we’re going to be working on community building and tenants of leadership. Applications should be sent to me. All I need is a statement showing me you are interested in the position. The statement should include any ideas you have for the House.

Conclusion

That’s all from me. Thank you to the Herald for the Report Graphic! I love me some intense Imperial propaganda!

Your Quaestor,

Dek
