”Noooope! Hold it! This is not a report! Y’hear me? NOT a report!
...Aight, carry on. Bring the kids home.” - QA

Good day everyone. As my fictional counterpart mentioned above, this isn’t a (full) report. Things have been busy for everyone, so now we finally have that promised period of peace. Huzzah for alliteration. Not counting all that business with holiday-themed competitions, you can all relax for a time. There’s still other things to be done though…

House Fiction Updates

We’ve juggled this idea in the past, and now seems like a good time to try it out. We are opening the floor to all current members of Galeres (sorry Clan Summiteers) to write a bit of fiction that will be incorporated into the House Fiction Updates in the Discourse forums. It is not mandatory, nor is it a competition, but it will be worth a few Clusters of Ice. Here’s your prompt:

The battle for Meridian Station is over. Now the Clans return home and, for Arcona, they’re only coming in from their backyard. Dajorra is smouldering in the wake of the riots, but it is still intact, and an uneasy calm settles over the inhabitants as the holiday season approaches. As your character comes home from the warfront, what do they do? What are their thoughts? Tell us your story, Galeres.

Some rules for this:

  • No minimum word count; 1,500 maximum word count.
  • All content must be PG-13 appropriate due to the public nature of the forums.
  • Entries will be sent by e-mail to Qyreia and Rrogon for review, approval, and compilation.
  • Fictions may be submitted as files (pdf preferred), Google Docs, or directly into the e-mail. Be sure to include any Markdown formatting in your text.
  • Entries should be submitted by January 6th, 2019.

We hope you partake and enjoy. Happy Life Day! Welcome home, Galeres!

Award Highlights

Some of our folks have been hard at work, and at times it might seem like it goes unnoticed amidst the monotonous and at times repetitive reports. Well, since this isn’t a report, we wanted to give a little shout-out to our stand-out members whose activity has earned them those legendary things we call “Shinies”.

Aldaric

This newcomer who was a raging storm in the Shadow Academy, and he rocked out thirty-some competitions over a month. This and more earned Aldaric a Steel Cross. He has since left us for a leadership position opening in Taldryan, but we wish him the best of luck and thank him nonetheless.

El Log (aka Uji)

We know him, we love him, and we like to roast our chestnuts… over… him? Uji got himself an Anteian Cross through some solid activity over the past months. Given how often he’s pulling people into gaming in House, Battleteam, or DB Gaming channels, this hardly comes as a surprise. Now if only we could get him to branch out into, say, fiction. (Love ya Uji!)

Grot

Like the other two here, Grot was and is a solid source of activity in the House. Based on his numbers, he finds victory in some form wherever he competes, and with eleven Pendants of Blood earned since March, it’s no surprise he netted himself a Steel Cross.

And, last but not least…
Warp, aka Rulvak Qurroc

Warp’s promotion to EQ4 was a fun thing to add to this list. If you’re wondering what penultimate gaming in the Club looks like, go check out the stats on that link. This is just an abbreviated snippet, but we can’t say enough how much we appreciate Warp; not just for boosting stats and numbers (which has never been a focus of mine), but for being a constant presence in the House as opposed to sitting quietly in the corner and collecting Clusters. Not often I get to be part of a promotion, much less to one that I can’t even put in the primary recommendation for (thanks Kord).

I know we hit this up on Telegram already, and it’ll be rehashed in an e-mail for this, but congratulations to all of you guys. Once the holiday season ends, be ready for some more fun stuff that’ll provide some more House and Battleteam fictional advancement, and maybe some shinies along the way.

Sincerely,

Congratulations, guys! Well done to all of you for RoS.

Good luck, Aldaric!

Looking forward to seeing the stories you all write!
