Here goes nothing!

Intro

Hello everyone and welcome to my first report as your humble Queastor! I'm quite humbled to have been given this opportunity and hope that I can at least be a fraction of the successful leader that Qyreia was. I have some big shoes to fill! Many thanks to him for all his work getting me up to speed on everything that I needed to know to get started. That being said, I'm extremely happy to be back with Clan Arcona. I can't help but feel that this is my home. I could not ask for a better group to work with and I'm quite honored to be your Quaestor.

Current Plans

I'm quite happy with the way everything is set up right now. I definitely plan on continuing the weekly roleplay sessions on TG since they seem to be going so well. I'm pretty new to it, but it has been a fun learning experience so far. After consulting with the rest of the Summit, I have decided to hold off on running a large house event for now. But don't fret! I will get a little something put together to hold everyone over.

A bit about your new Quaestor

If Rhylance is the Science Chiss, Aldaric is the Philosopher Chiss. When he is not lending out his skills as a Tactician he usually spends his time alone drinking Corellian Brandy and studying old texts in an effort to expand his knowledge of the Force. He strives to be a bit of a polymath since a bit of knowledge about a wide range of subjects can be useful to get out of a bind. My inspiration for him is Aloysius Pendergast, who is my favorite fictional character.

He was born on the Chiss homeworld of Csilla where his parents worked hard to keep his Force sensitivity a secret. As he got older, it eventually became apparent that he was one of the rare exceptions to the norm as his abilities didn't fade. He eventually took a position at the Chiss Expeditionary Library where he eventually learned of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. When the opportunity finally presented himself, he fled to join the Brotherhood and begin his training. After briefly leaving Clan Arcona when the opportunity to study a force Nexus on Kalus arose, he decided to return to his home on Selen to be among the people that he felt were his family.

Abbey continues: What about you behind the screen? :P anything you feel like sharing?

Hrmmm, well... For anyone curious, I'm a 33-year-old machinist turned more or less manufacturing engineer from Pittsburgh. I've been married for a little over a year now and have two boys that are 5 and 7 years old. I'm a bit of a bookworm, I try to read everything Star Wars that comes along as well as anything from the Pendergast series. I'm also a big retro gaming fan. Don't ask about my collection because I'll never shut up! Favorite food? I'd have to say the typical Japanese fare, Ramen, Sushi, Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki, etc.

Abbey goes on to ask: How are you feeling with your new leadership team? Any plans for the House you can share? Hopes, maybe?

The team is great! Everyone has been a big help. I've started cooking up ideas for House events and think I have a good idea forming. As far as hopes? I'm still at the point where I'm hoping I can do a decent job!

She continues with: What's been a favorite moment in the club for you?

Oof! A tough question! Honestly, that might have been when I result of my first crack at the Test of Wisdom. I have this problem with immediately assuming that my writing is crap. I had initially never expected that I would never be much of a writer.

After much deliberation, I think I'm going to go with yes. I'll have to fill in some fictional blanks, but there are reasons leaving and returning.

That depends on how empty my bottle of Corellian Brandy is.

Conclusion

In the end, I'm very excited to be the Quaestor of House Galeres. I still have a lot to learn, but I'm going to give it my best! I have a lot on my to-do list now and it gets longer every time I start working on something. Like when I just realized that I need to get myself a proper portrait! Shame!
