House Tyranus Report #1 - Quaestor J'Kast and Aedile Kalen Joss

Hello, Tyranids Tyranians Tyrants! It is an honor to be writing my first report as your House leader. I want to thank our Clan Consul and Proconsul for giving me the opportunity to serve in this role and thank all of you for your confidence in having me here.

By way of short introduction, like so many of us, I first joined the DJB as a teenager decades ago, served in some leadership positions that I was never qualified for, and somehow managed to play multiplayer matches of the classic Star Wars starfighting games on MSN Zone using dial-up Internet. We have come a long way.

My goal as a Quaestor will always be to make sure you know of the incredible opportunities available to you within the club, help to remove any hurdles that may keep you from engaging with those opportunities, and advocate to improve your experience however possible. All of that requires me to hear from and listen to you, so please take advantage of the open door to my office, and let me know anything I can do to help you!

Great Jedi War XVII: Animus

The big ongoing news of the Brotherhood is the Great Jedi War underway. This club-wide competition has something for everyone, and its outcome has major impacts for the fictional storyline of the organization and how the Clans of the Brotherhood are ranked among each other. The biggest way you can contribute to Clan Plagueis' success is to participate.

What does participation look like? Check out the competition page to see the available opportunities to jump in. Next to each section of a few listed competition, you'll see a red or green badge that shows whether you have participated in that "bin." To earn participation credit for the Clan, all you have to do is submit a valid entry for one competition in the bin. This can be quick and easy if you just want to make sure you're participating or you can spend more time crafting a more competitive entry to hope for placement, which has further rewards. If you participate in all of the bins in a given phase (we are currently in Phase II), you earn bonus points.

All that being said, if all you can do is submit one entry in each bin, that can have a monumental impact on our Clan's performance. If you have any issues with any of the competitions, need a teammate or want to get pointed in the right direction for how to get plugged in, please reach out to us! Your Clan Summit is here to help, and we stand ready to assist in any way we can.

Speaking of the Summit, you also deserve to be introduced to your new Aedile, who helps run the House. So I'll turn the next section over to Brother Kalen Joss.

Aedile's Corner

Greetings all, I'm Kalen the new Aedile of House Tyranus. I'm honoured and privileged to assume the role and look forward to working with all of my fellow Tyrants. For those that don't know me, I'm a currently semi-retired veteran from the Great White North, and I enjoy all things sci-fi. If anyone has any questions or ever needs anything, my door is always open.

I am a fairly prolific writer, and you can always find me bumming around the various RP threads on the DB discord. I'm also the former BTL of the short lived Ascendant Outreach Corps, and I'll be working on some fiction updates for the House here shortly. I also have taken part in the recent wiki and lore updates for the Clan recently, and look forward to continuing that in my new role as well.

We have a week left in the GJW, so let's try and finish strong everyone. Every entry helps.

Conclusion

No doubt you've already seen a few messages from me about ways to participate in the ongoing GJW. The club's leadership have put an incredible amount of work into creating this event, and we owe it to them to engage with the content. We also contribute to the prestige and standing of our Clan Plagueis with each entry submitted! For these reasons, increasing our participation in each bin of this mammoth competition is our main priority, and if there's any way we can help to get you plugged in, please let us know. We will do it.
