House Wren Quaestor Report #8 An End to the World Between Worlds

All of the members of Clan Vizsla, with the exception of Chrome, had passed through the barrier between time and space. Chrome stood vigilant with enough rations to last for only a couple of days. Time was definitely of the essence.

Three days had passed since they had come back in time. They had tracked down the mystery duo at one point to find out that the cloaked figure had been the target of a murder. A lightsaber had been used to stab the man, seemingly in the back. Only someone who was familiar with this person from the future could have gotten close enough to kill him.

“At least there is only one of them to deal with now.” Kanal said somberly.

“We still need to find this one,” Korvis stated quickly, “and we are still having people watch Tarre near the Temple. He recently left and headed for level 1313.”

“We know that this person must be some kind of Force wielder based on this attack,” Juda chimed in, “we must be cautious and get to where our namesake is going.”

Clan leadership agreed that they needed to move swiftly and make it to level 1313 to look for Tarre Vizsla. They loaded into some, borrowed, speeders and headed into the depths of Coruscant. Junior members of the clan had been sent to follow Tarre and reported that he had walked into a dimly lit cantina. He had been in there for about twenty minutes. In that time a handful of people had left, and only a couple had gone in. Including a cloaked figure matching the description of what Kanal had seen before entering into the world between worlds.

As the leadership of clan Vizsla showed up to the underworld bar, they could hear shouting from within the building. The shouting turned into blaster fire, and then the sound of lightsabers clashing. Kanal, Korvis, and Juda ran to the door and punched through the rushing crowd exiting the building. They could see the color of a red Saber and the faint glow of a silvery outline of the Darksaber. The one thing that could unite the Mandalorians in the present, and it was right here in use by its creator. It was a feeling they couldn’t shake.

Blades were whirling around in the air. The clashing of black on red caused a sensational light show as the three onlookers stood there, weapons at the ready. Kanal watched as the female combatant held her hand up towards Tarre after a successful parry. The action sent the Jedi flying through the air into a pillar in the middle of the room. His back hit the pillar with so much pressure that his back must have broken. The Mandalorian Jedi lay there in his armor and with his helmet on. Kanal, Juda, and Korvis couldn’t believe their eyes. They raised their weapons to stop the fight and fired stun blasts at the assailant. The first couple of bolts were blocked by her but one from the back of the room hit her squarely in her back. She went down like a sack of rocks. Kanal rushed over to grab her saber and restrain her, while Korvis and Juda called for a medic to check on Tarre.

The medic ran over and checked on the founder of Vizsla. He was knocked out and unconscious but alive. There didn’t seem to be any major injuries to the Jedi. It would not be long before the authorities arrived and someone revived him though. Kanal took hold of the female combatant and loaded her onto the back of the speeder they had been using. With all of Clan Vizsla loaded up into similarly borrowed speeders they were off to where Chrome awaited them.

Chrome had been waiting patiently by the portal entrance as his clan mates returned to where they had originally entered the past. He reached his arm through the portal to take each person by the hand and pull them back through.

“It sure took you guys long enough,” Chrome joked with Kanal.

“It would have gone much faster with you there Chrome.” Kanal snorted at his Aedile.

Everyone had been retrieved from the past and had made their way to the original portal entrance. They stood there for a minute, not sure if they were going to disappear when they stepped back through or not. With nothing else to do but try, Kanal took the first step into the present time, such as it was. He stood there for a minute before he noticed Shooter and the other members of the clan’s army were right where they had been. It looks like the future had been saved. There was but one thing left to do.

“Prepare to close this portal forever,” Korvis ordered.

Charges were placed every five feet and on every corner of the portal. After the charges detonate a small orbital bombardment would then be called for to lay waste to this area of the planet. This portal would never be used again.

In closing, Su Well is a continuing threat to Vizsla that we are have been working towards getting rid of during our Great Hunts, and set up through this hunt continuation. Hopefully we have shown that she is more of a threat than originally thought. It gives her a more dangerous story going forward as she tries to annihilate Clan Vizsla. This portal is closed and there will be no more time changes through this world. Get ready for Pro Bowl, Feuds, and Great Jedi Wars in the future.

Excellent work everyone. A fun storyline that was off the beaten path. Thanks for running this Kanal.

Poison the Well!!

Nice report, Kanal

Hmm. So a canon character was directly interacted with and slain, and there was no point in writing any of the fiction as it had no impact or mention in the final story. That's a bit frustrating and disheartening.
