Inaugural Taldryan Rollmaster Report

Hello, I’m Howie – the Rollmaster of the newly commissioned Clan Taldryan. So that’s pretty fun. You all know me, I love pandas, medals, and yelling at people to do all the things. Now I have a job title to go along with the last one – so all of you Taldryanites? DO ALL THE THINGS!

But seriously, here’s what you have to look forward to in this first report:

  1. What’s a Rollmaster?
  2. Competition Round Up
  3. Recognizing Taldryanites
  4. Beer of the week!

What’s a Rollmaster?

Traditionally (ie: in the extreme ancient past) - the rollmaster was in charge of a house's roster, and that has not been needed since the creation of a centralized roster for the whole club. These days, most units use the Rollmaster as the trainer for a unit's newest members and guiding them through to a promotion to Dark Jedi Knight, and that is what I will be doing in Taldryan, except with a bit of a twist.

What I intend to do is to assist the various masters in the training of their students, as well as training the students themselves. I plan to be the initial point of contact for anyone that comes into Taldryan, and after getting to know the person - I will pair them with the appropriate master based upon shared interests or ideas. I will then follow up with the masters as to the progress of their student.

This leads me to my first request, for those equites and elders that have not expressed interest to me directly in being a master to a prospective new Taldryan member, send me an email and let me know! Hell, if you are thinking about it and want to ask questions? Please, ask!

Competition Round Up

As you all well know, I'm a big fan of pestering people to do all the things. With that in mind, here is a concise listing of all the competitions available to members of Taldryan, so go forth, do all the things!

Recognizing Journeymen (and women)

Here are some notable accomplishments of our clan's journeymen in the past week:

  • Jedi Hunter Armags: 24 Clusters of Fire.
  • Jedi Hunter Kenath Zoron: Capital Starship Studies, Brotherhood History I, Brotherhood History II, and the History of the Sith Empire I Shadow Academy courses.
  • Guardian Deidra: 41 Clusters of Fire, 1 Pendant of Blood, Dark Maven - Philosophy Shadow Academy Degree, Combat Tactics I, Sith Core, and Lightsaber Studies Shadow Academy courses.
  • Protector Aiden Dru: ACC Qualification passed, and a promotion to Guardian.

Congratulations to all for their hard work!

Beer of the week!

For the record? This was Halc's idea (not Tarax and not Chaos, because I'm an idiot). All credit goes to him. :P

So I just moved to Edmonton, Alberta for work - and I have been sampling some of the local beer fare. But I won't be talking about the local beers this week, instead, something from much further away.

New Belgium's La Terroir - it was sour and funky and very delicious. It may be my favourite of all the Lips of Faith beers I have had. I strongly recommend it. I also can't buy it here, so somebody send Howie a case?

Belgium is mentioned
Fills with national pride

Also, hurray for super active journeymen!

PS. Do ALL the things

Congrats again! I love the beer of the week idea

Attaboy Howie.

"Protector Aiden Dru...promoted to guardian" a bit confusing but I'll take it lol. Beer of the week is a swell idea. There's so much things to do, how can we do them ALL xD

Good boy, Howie. We'll see another one of these next year, right?

I sense a "Name that beer" competition upcoming where Howie posts a picture of a bottle and/or glass and has us guess what the name is.
