Karness Muur July Report: Freedom to be Buggy!

HKM - July Report

The Buzz

As you recall, we just went through the Sphere of Influence Feud in which we as a unit didn't exactly fare well overall. While the overall results weren't pretty, we did manage some success on an individual level and that is something to work with. In the end, I was happy with the work that was put out and I think we now have a firm foundation for fictional development going forward. Hopefully we've learned some learned some things going forward that will help us in future events.

Speaking of events, there's plenty of stuff going on DJB wide that you can sink your teeth into. In his last report, Sarin posted a couple of rather interesting fiction competitions (insert here). Both of them are good exercises to develop your character both in backstory and in how they think. I'd encourage you to do at least one of them if only as a creative exercise, though the CoIs help. There's also a number of other DJB wide fiction comps being run by other members as well as the usual spate of gaming comps offered by the Voice & Associates. All in all, plenty to do, and do them you should. See Howie, I didn't use your line.

As for non-competition goings on, a couple of our ACC experts are getting a group together to help folks both practice and refine their ACC skills. It's only a matter of time before there's another big ACC competition and I want us to be as ready as possible. Thus, if you're interested in these lessons, get in touch with Rai and he'll get you to the right people. Who knows, you might even get to challenge a certain insect. Also, if you have not qualified for the ACC, well, why not? Get on that with the doing and stuff. I also will be putting together a similar "educational experience" when it comes to Run-on writing since that's also a skill I think we as a whole need improvement on. If this is something you're interested in, let me know.

The Welcome Mat

We've had a couple new people come into the house recently, so it's about time we formally welcomed them aboard. Vivackus, aka "Viv" is a former PCON and Combat Master who decided to rejoin us after a long hiatus. He's already hit the ground running, and I'm sure he'll be a great asset. Also in the "oldy but goody" category is Vithril. Welcome both of you! Oh, and no more "Vi" names for a bit, ok guys?

Musical Interlude and Moment of Zen

Normally I don't go with an instrumental piece for my Musical Interludes, but I figured this time I should. This is a song that has given me my second wind mentally several times recently and I thought it might be something to share with you with the hope it will do the same for you. That or it will make you dig out your old Playstations (it's had that effect too.) With that, I give you Scars of Time from Chrono Cross.

For your Moment of Zen, I give you something Arturis sent me during the Feud. You know how I like slow mo bunnehs!
